Hello. Just want to reach out to anyone who has sarcoidosis and been affected by Covid.
My husband has sarcoidosis for past 17 years and he’s tested positive. He’s very sick and it’s day 9 today. Anyone wants to share their experience to help me worry less. He’s generally in good health, will be 42 next week and we have two kids, 5 & 3 and I am due another one at the beginning of May.
I am very worried and thinking of the worst things.

Sorry to read this, didn’t want to leave you unanswered. My dad has sarcoidosis but thankfully has had his jab already. Wishing your husband a speedy recovery Flowers

Thank you for your message Daisy and sorry I didn’t get back to you earlier. My kids and I have also tested positive and not well at all.

I hope you all feel better soon. I have no advice other than if worried some a review by a health professional may get his oxygen saturation’s checked and they may give a monitor to keep an eye on them.

Thank you for the advice Meg. I have been very sick all day dozing on and off. My son the 5 years old isn’t too bad with a sore throat and a headache. But my daughter the youngest one is very sick. My husband is also in a bad shape. He had the vaccine and sadly still got it bad. We have been very careful so not sure where we got it from. Plus the bloody oven just broke

How long after the vaccine did he become ill, OP?

Friend has sarcoidosis. We met up for a cupppa back in July I guess, but mostly she is just super careful. She has 3 or 4 other health issues to also manage.

My relative has sarcoidosis, tested positive a couple of months back. He was fine with mild symptoms, bit worse than the normal cold, but not as severe as a flu. Cough hung around for a bit though. He’s 44.

I think you need to talk to the GP in the morning. I know that Covid care is contracted out to to 111 or 119 but this is a chronic condition management issue if the receptionist tries to block it
Has he been prescribed steroids?
Nebuliser steroids may be suggested in which case I’d consider buying a nebuliser many pharmacies stock them or you may be able to borrow one and getting the dose prescribed at home Azithromycin is an antibiotic often used for it’s anti inflammatory benefits and that might be worth a discussion but please don’t rely on Mumsnet

I agree, if he’s in bad shape, call 111. There’s a lot of treatments they can try.

Thank you all so much for your kind words and advice.
We are waiting for the GP to call back. We are already on anti biotic and my husband is on long term steroids since diagnosis 17 years ago. He does have scarring on the lungs. Feel absolutely dreadful and I am so scared to lose my baby too as I have been cramping very badly since last night. He’s been moving okay though. I have never felt so scared in my life and my husband has been doing more or less everything despite being so ill himself and I have just been laying on bed with the kids. Everything is an effort.
I have contacted the midwife so waiting to hear back.

Plus I have the test and trace calling me every 30 minutes for the kids. I spoke to them yesterday and they said they need to be on the phone with me for 40 minutes for each child. I can barely talk for a minute and they want me to be on the phone for over an hour. I told them we have been isolating since last Monday and we haven’t seen or met anyone but that’s not good enough. Plus I spoke to them about myself on Friday and gave them all the information and they still keep calling. I feel harassed.

Here’s to hoping past day seven brings some reprieve to you.
It must be really hard with test and trace but I think they must just be checking in to see if everyone is okay.

Hopefully a GP will get back to your husband.

Do you think it’s worth contacting the maternity unit or GP if you are cramping and worried? Not that that’s your only worry right now

Much thoughts to you and your family!

Are you in the UK? He should have been vaccinated in group 4 before now? My DH has sarcoidosis and has been on the shielding list since last summer. Luckily he had the vaccination about 4 weeks ago. I think he should be being monitored by the GP really? Hope you all turn a corner soon x
