I can't keep up with the scientists.

I'm on day 9 now. Still suffering. Whole house positive. 2 kids cleared today so can go out tomorrow. Eldest can go to work Tuesday. I won't go out till I feel better

BUT

Can kids catch it again from me while I'm poorly?
Can we still spread it once recovered?
Can we catch it again?

Unfortunately I don’t believe there are any definite answers to your questions yet. I believe the official line is to still behave as though you are capable of spreading and being infectious. I think it’s highly unlikely that anyone in your household would catch it from you again if they’ve recently cleared an infection though.

It’s frustrating but Covid simply hasn’t existed long enough for anyone to say for certain what kind of immunity it offers and whether or not it means you won’t be a carrier.

I hope you feel better soon Flowers

This is so worrying. I am a childminder. Have agreed an extended time off work to ensure I'm clear. All this time is unpaid. Accessing the council grant is proving an absolute nightmare because track and trace haven't sent me info council say I should have so looks like I need to try an scrape by but I don't want to risk infecting the kids I look after.

That’s shit about track and trace. I’ve never dealt with them but someone in this board might have some good advice? Might be worth starting another thread about it so people see.

Yes, you can catch it again. There have been many, many proven cases all over the world of people getting covid twice. How long any antibodies you may have will last is unknown.

And that’s why I question why everyone is getting excited about a vaccine that gives you antibodies but how long will they last? It’s also more likely that it’s better to catch the virus itself then get antibodies through a vaccine if you are young and healthy.

But If your body was able to fight off the virus with a t zone response, then you would likely be able to do the same again

My understanding is that most people have some immunity when they've recently had the virus although that immunity may be short lived. So if your kids have had Covid in the past 4 weeks, it's very unlikely they'll catch it again from you.
