Husband asked to isolate but not me? In contact with same person

My husband has received a notification from T&T due to being in close contact with someone last week who's tested positive.

I have not been asked to isolate. But (we know who it is), I was also in contact with them.

According to the 'rules' I don't have to isolate just because someone in my household is unless they get symptoms. Is this right, do I not need to isolate as I've not been asked to?

I WFH anyway so it doesn't make too much difference. Main thing im thinking is walking the dog tbh!

To clarify, I wasn't in as close contact as my husband was but I definitely saw this person too.

The definition of contact is more scientific than seeing them.

If you don’t meet that criteria, you don’t need to isolate.

When I say saw, I was in contact with them as in I spent a couple of hours around them, spoke to them etc...

My husband was with them for longer than I was though.

Did that person provide test and trace with your details, or just your husbands?

The criteria are face to face for more than 15 minutes at 1-2 metre distance, or 1 minute at less than 1 metre difference.

Presumably your husband was within this and you weren’t.

Maybe this person just gave your husband’s details thinking they were the household details if you see what I mean. And assumed you’d therefore get the message through your husband?
Legally, no, you don’t have to isolate if not contacted.
But if you think you were in close enough contact during the relevant time frame to warrant isolating then I wouldn’t not isolate just because I hadn’t technically been told to.

Have you got the app? Was your husband's phone nearer the person's phone than yours?

This is why it doesn't work and it's all arbitrary bullshit. Your husband could be asymptomatic and you could get it and go out and about as normal. Mind boggles.

you don't need to isolate. Be careful by all means, and definitely walk the dog!

So people can get out of isolating because they haven’t been individually named on someone’s test and trace form. However, if your husband has to it makes sense you do too if you were also there.

See the criteria above. If her husband went closer to the positive person than she did she DOES NOT have to isolate.

Why are people wanting to make their own rules? You don’t have to extend them too far and there won’t be any NHS staff to treat patients. Confused

If you are isolating without symptoms dog walking is allowed I believe (the guidance is opaque but we looked into it for dm).
