BBC article says he was contacted by Track and Trace. Doesn’t quite seem plausible!

The week he has to answer questions about track and trace and Cummings he has to self isolate. Hmmmmm

Thought Dom's revenge would be way more high spec than that.

Inevitable really given the number of people he meets, and the number of people those people will be meeting. Still, if it saves us him standing between Whitty and Valance doing press conferences for a fortnight I’m all for it.

God, can you imagine? You're the poor T&T worker, and suddenly Boris and No 10's phone number pops up on your call list.

I think I would have assumed it was You've Been Framed.

Ashfield MP Mr Anderson met up with Boris Johnson on Thursday. He has written on his FB page:

'On Friday I lost my sense of taste at the same time my wife had a bad headache. I had no cough, no fever and felt well. We both had a test on Saturday and the result came in Sunday morning.

'My wife and I both tested positive. I feel absolutely fine and my biggest concern is my wife who is in the shielded group. But we are both feeling good.'

Boris was so ill last time. I hope to goodness he doesn't contract it again.

Will this make much difference? I kind of forget he’s PM some days he’s so rarely seen.
Then I remember, all the Brexit lies, utter incompetence and him hiding in a fridge Sad

This is less interesting for Boris and more for who else the MP was near. He was symptomatic on Friday and in Parliament Wednesday. Could be seeing a fair amount of the Tory bench suddenly go.

No one wants this disease, no one should wish it on anyone else. Its killing hundreds if people every day here. I feel sorry for everyone concerned, it could happen to any of us at any time.

Well it's over 3 months since he had it before. So we shall see if he has good immunity.

Ashfield MP Mr Anderson in the circle in the week that BJ has not been seen except for PMQ (not sat next to Mr Anderson MP for Ahshfied first elected in 2019, previous Labour councilor ) and in teh same week his bestie SPAD is having a spat with his girlfriend (and quite possibly others).... like so likely.

Whilst any death is horrible, killing hundreds every day is not, in the scheme of things a lot of people.
Also anyone who's tested positive for covid is counted as a covid death. Even if they'd died of a heart attack or car accident. So of those 100s of people not all of them died OF covid, they died WITH it.

All this being said though, 100s in a day in a population as big as ours is nothing.

For the 20-44 age group and below the risk is vanishingly small of dying. It's more likely a woman would die during childbirth in the UK than or covid... And I was extremely close to being one of those women.

So no, it couldn't happen to any of us, at any time. If you're under the age of 75, with or without medical conditions (I am CEV but haven't ever and won't ever sheild....) The risk is unbelievably small. Don't over dramatise or catastrophise it's just not helpful.

I wonder how ill the shielded wife will get. It's possible but also crazy she might have shielded but onky get a bad headache

It's funny, isn't it? The head of comms gets kicked out, partly at the behest of a new media spokesperson, then suddenly there's a minister getting put forward for a Piers Morgan interview again, and a national story making headlines about the 'NHS' test and trace app working effectively, that also happens to change the narrative around the Prime Minister.

Isn't random chance odd?

So what’s the guidance on this as it’s incredibly hard to find any info. How long after having covid would you be in a position to be contacted by track and trace and have to isolate again ? Is it straight away potentially once your self isolation period is up ? Or is it after 3 months ? And 3 months from when ? The day you test or the day you get your result or the day you come out of self isolation ? Does anyone know

Doesn't matter. If you've been in contact you isolate.

Noy official guidance but some science;

www.thelancet.com/action/showPdf?pii=S1473-3099%2820%2930764-7

“ previous exposure to SARS-CoV-2 might not guarantee total immunity in all cases. All individuals, whether previously diagnosed with COVID-19 or not, should take identical precautions to avoid infection with SARS-CoV-2”.

Mp’s wife wasn’t showing symptoms so shouldn’t have had test??

But on a side point Boris could be following the rules but still have to self isolate so irrelevant

I don’t wish this on anyone, even bloody trump, as they can pass it on

MP's wife is a double lung transplant recipient. In this case I'm absolutely fine with testing early just in case because her risk level is not that of most people.

Bit of a coincidence don’t you think?
He can now avoid PMQ’s with Mr Starmer and won’t have to answer questions on the whole Dominic ‘Specsavers’ Cummings debacle

"Johnson was pictured standing next to Lee Anderson, MP for Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, inside Downing Street on Thursday. The men appear to be less than 2 metres apart and neither is wearing a mask."

To catch COVID once may be regarded as a misfortune; to potentially get is a second time looks like carelessness.
