I need some advice from those people who still have a cleaner coming into their homes. We stopped our cleaner back in January however looks like we need to get one again due to my work circumstances changing. I’m currently working from home and DH is back working at his head office.
If a cleaner was to come and I stayed in the office whilst she was here and maintained no contact then presumably if she was to test positive then I wouldn’t need to self isolate would I?
I’m on the fence about getting her back at the moment as I’m trying to avoid our DC having to self isolate and be off school. I know they wouldn’t be here anyway but just trying to get my head round the rules!

The rules very clearly state cleaners can come into your home

I think that is correct - that you would not meet the close contact criteria so would not be contacted by Test & Trace nor have to self-isolate. Likewise no impact on your children and going to school.

That’s my understanding anyway.

I'd assume she would be wearing a mask?
If you provide them for her it wouldn't be unreasonable to ask her to wear gloves whilst cleaning

Yes gloves is a good call. The touch points doesn’t worry me as much as I always think you get the same amount of touch points when going to the shops.
My main thought is how to reduce the close contact point- assume that by staying in a separate room to her would alleviate this issue.

I can't see how you wouldn't be naked as a close contact. However, that would just mean you have to isolate if you were the only one in the house at the same time - no-one else.
