How long have you been furloughed for?

I was re furloughed last Wednesday but was given no date of return. My employer simply doesn't know when I will be needed back.

It's very concerning for me and for the company I work for.

Just wondering if you have been given a return date yet or just been left waiting to hear?

In the last lockdown I was given a return date, but told that it was not set in stone and that the date would be pushed back as necessary.

We are not giving people a return date now having brought everyone back for one Monday and we furloughed them by four in the afternoon after they changed the rules over the weekend we don’t pretend to know what is going on anymore😂!

It is crap though so I really feel for you.

First time, three months. This time, the general dates but let’s face it, they may well change.

Was in non essential retail so furloughed until whenever that was (mid June?), went back for a week and got made redundant. Got a new job in hospitality in August which was going really well and I love it but now obvs furloughed again until 🤞🤞 2nd December.

It sucks. I really wish I’d made different life choices and had a ‘proper’ job where I could work from home like DH who not only has secure employment but has bagged a huge promotion/pay rise in the midst of all this. We share finances but I feel a bit of a dead weight right now.

@YippeeKayakOtherBuckets I have been in luxury retail for 30 years. Always felt like I had a proper job.
I hope your new job can resume soon.

@icelollycraving thank you. Sorry, I was being a bit Wah Wah Wah there really and I love the work I do, it’s just I’m surrounded by people who are still able to work and my career choices feel a bit flat at the moment. I know it’s a proper job really.

OMG, retail and hospitality are proper and fricking essential jobs to society. Don't feel they are not. I can't bloody wait to do some luxury retail therapy!
