How long are people waiting for test results?

I know I'm probably really impatient but im stuck at home lile I'm sure many are, dc's are off school because I have a cough, im self employed so losing money and both dc's have ASD and are confused as to why they are at home. I tested yesterday morning, was told 24-48 hours but also told that most results are taking 24 hours. So far heard nothing, I will have to decide soon if I need to cancel school transport dor dd2. Whats the chances of getting my results today? How long did it take to get yours? And can it happen at any time of the day?

My first test - 11am test and my results text/emailed by 10pm that night (inconclusive)
My second test - 12:30am test and the results by lunchtime the next day

Both of these were drive through tests

My husbands was a postal test, posted off 3pm on a Monday and he had his results 24hrs later

Thank you. Knowing my luck mine has probably been one that has gone missing. I did it at a drive through test centre and was told it should be quite quick. Neen glued to my phone all day waiting for a text or email.

29 hours and counting here. I am trying to keep a 5 and a 6 year old on top of school work, look after the poorly 2 year, and teach! Really hope it's not inconclusive!

The wait is horrible isn't it? I'm feeling slightly unwell, kids are perfectly fine and moaning because they are bored, just want to know of we are stuck in for 2 weeks so I can then deal with it (order some crap from amazon to keep them busy).

My teens have both been tested at school this week (Liverpool mass testing scheme). The younger one had test mid afternoon and I had results around 8pm. Older one tested at 9:20 and results received at 10.30!!
My husband was tested after having symptoms last month, and his results took around 36 hours.

I tested 9am yesterday along with my husband and 2 kids. I got a positive result about an hour ago but still waiting on the other 3 results.

I’m also off with a cough and glued to phone awaiting results. Had my test at a walk in at 7pm last night.

I had a test about a month ago at 530pm and got the results at 11am the next day, so still hopeful it will come through today.

Still not heard anything so I’m guessing I won’t hear until tomorrow. I’m going to cancel DD’s school transport again for tomorrow, she’s not going to be happy.

Mine took around 72 hours. They came back at 5am , so don't rule out getting notified overnight.

Yes we've had 2 in the past. One result at 4am, one at 11pm

I’m hoping I will get the results during the night or first thing as I was unable to cancel DD’s taxi for the morning (I’m going to have to get up really early to call them).

Last week it was 27 hours for us. Feel lucky. Time before (August) 14 hours and email came through at midnight followed by text in the morning.

I'm hoping it's qui k because I've just ordered tests for Ds2 (snotty, cough, unlikely to comply with test, anyhow, due to severe asd) and dh (snotty, exaggerated throat clearing, covering our bases)

Currently at the 60-hour mark. Someone else on here was over 100 hours earlier. My sister had a test last week at the same drive through place as me and hers took less than 48 hours. I wonder if it's anything to do with the huge surge in positive tests reported today?

Report
Vargas · 12/11/2020 23:42

Just under 48 hours both times.

Any news OP? Sounds tough DoThePropeller. Sorry about your positive GreatSorprendo, hope you recover quickly.

60 hours here and still waiting. It was a drive through one and I was hoping for a quick result!

We have had a total mixed bag here. Some tests back within 24 hours, others taking up to 4 days Shock. Testing centres seem marginally quicker than postal.
