Proposed Ban on Takeaway Alcohol

It's been proposed that pubs, breweries and hospitality venues are banned from selling takeaway alcohol during the lockdown. Their one income stream, that kept many in business, gone.

I don't know why the government doesn't tell the whole sector to fold and have done with it. It's got to be more dignified than this death by a thousand cuts.

I think they can still sell it but it has to be proper takeaway, i.e. delivered in cartons to people's homes. Think they're trying to stop pubs selling takeaway pints in plastic glasses as it just caused people to gather on the street outside the pub.
Got a lot of friends in the industry, it's crap!

It's a terrible time for the industry unfortunately, not much that can be done other than financial support.

It's awful. I supported my favourite local bar last time by buying cocktails to drink at home, was hoping to do the same this time as I'm thankfully still working.
