Are cleaners still allowed to come into your home?

Just that really! I absolutely support any measures and could clean my own home but I know my cleaners still want to work (I paid them for the first four weeks of the last lockdown and told them not to come in)

I don’t want to break any rules but couldn’t see the new advice regarding this.

YES!! How many times - the government say you can go to work if you cannot work from home.cleaners cannot work from home.

They can't WFH. So would presume yes if they are willing.

I would ventilate your house whilst they are there to keep you and them as least exposed as.

Why don't you go for exercise whilst they are there if that concerned about the interaction? And like mentioned just leave windows olen whilst they clean and then return once they've left or stay in another room

Yes, as from the first lockdown if you cannot work from home you go to work

Our cleaners are coming but my DH and DS are going to go out and, after letting them in, I'm going to go work in a room which they won't be cleaning. This means that contact will be minimised which seems like a good idea.

I thought the guidance made specific allowance for people who’s work usually involves working in peoples homes like gas engineers, plumbers, plasterers etc.... but I can’t find where it says that now!!

Yes. Obviously would make sense for you to stay in another part of the house or go out whilst they are there if it is possible but they can continue to come.

I thought they wouldn’t be because it’s like having a visitor to your house, but there is no problem keeping out of each other’s way in my house and it’s very well ventilated.

From the cleaner's POV it's not so much being allowed by the government but how many clients will allow them into their home. Many people employing a cleaner are elderly and infirm and have only just been brave enough to let the cleaner back in after tha last lockdown! I really feel for my cleaner friends now. It's not so much like a plumber where the work can be necessary and urgent. People will try and manage without the cleaner unfortunately. The more of feel able to allow them to continue the better
