Yes. I think it'll be closer to Dec 20th.

I'm assuming we're going nowhere except food shopping, school run and out for a run/cycle from now until ds breaks up for Xmas. Sad

I've written a reading list, chores list, Xmas present list. It's going to be a very long autumn.

Yep! I think into the new year, maybe even Feb. But maybe we'll have the vaccine by then... Fingers crossed. No one really knows, best not to think that far ahead.

Yes. But really hope everything will be better by January

Yep, I think with secondary schools and universities still open this lockdown will probably stop numbers growing but probably won't get them shrinking again (or at least not by much). Hospitals are also going to fill up over the next couple of weeks with people who've unfortunately already caught it, and I can't see the lockdown ending until hospital occupancy reduces again - which I doubt it will be doing meaningfully by the 2nd December.

Like a pp I think we might get time off for Christmas but then we'll be back into lockdown again 🙁

Yes. Until March at least.

It will carry on until mid December.

They will lift it for Xmas.

Then they will bring it back mid January.

Yes, I think it will be February

Of course it will. I can’t believe people think the government is being truthful on this.

Yes, and I think schools will close in December.

Don't worry, there will be another U-Turn coming soon.

Very possibly but each day as it comes etc.

Kinshipcarer · 02/11/2020 04:57

Almost definitely. This is an introduction to lockdown over Christmas IMO and Boris will simply extend it when the times comes.

@BawJaws same. I'm pretty sure this partial lockdown is so that they can delay until December to allow a safer Christmas

Have seen reported elsewhere that Boris locked firm now because they have in France and other European countries because if they are out of lockdown in December, he does not want to be going into it then and an outfit that ‘them forriners’ are getting Christmas and we’re not Halloween Hmm

Yes - timelines of the disease mean that we'll only have the beginnings of evidence of which way it is going and how quickly within the 4 weeks.

So with a heavy heart Boris will ask us to do, a little more'. And will also put universities onto online only, tell students to stay within their term time accommodation for a fortnight and not return home even if their term finished during that period. Quarantine, before the end of term migration.

Then everyone can be relaxed down on about 16-18th Dec hurrah!

Because by then, for the next couple of weeks infections will keep falling, because they will reflect transmissions from 1-3 weeks earlier. It'll only start creeping up again from end first week in Jan (after students are back) and lockdown 3 will be indicated by the start of Feb
