Probably. But I'm praying for an ease of restrictions at Christmas so I can see my mum sad.

Yes. I think it'll be closer to Dec 20th.

I'm assuming we're going nowhere except food shopping, school run and out for a run/cycle from now until ds breaks up for Xmas. sad

I've written a reading list, chores list, Xmas present list. It's going to be a very long autumn.

Yep! I think into the new year, maybe even Feb. But maybe we'll have the vaccine by then... Fingers crossed. No one really knows, best not to think that far ahead.

Don't know and pretty much don't care anymore to be honest.

Yes. But really hope everything will be better by January

Duckchick Mon 02-Nov-20 02:23:56

Yep, I think with secondary schools and universities still open this lockdown will probably stop numbers growing but probably won't get them shrinking again (or at least not by much). Hospitals are also going to fill up over the next couple of weeks with people who've unfortunately already caught it, and I can't see the lockdown ending until hospital occupancy reduces again - which I doubt it will be doing meaningfully by the 2nd December.

Like a pp I think we might get time off for Christmas but then we'll be back into lockdown again 🙁

Yes. Until March at least.

Newjez Mon 02-Nov-20 03:31:35

It will carry on until mid December.

They will lift it for Xmas.

Then they will bring it back mid January.

Furrybutts Mon 02-Nov-20 03:41:45

Yes, I think it will be February

BritWifeinUSA Mon 02-Nov-20 03:48:46

Of course it will. I can’t believe people think the government is being truthful on this.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal Mon 02-Nov-20 04:20:51

Yes, and I think schools will close in December.

PhilCornwall1 Mon 02-Nov-20 04:23:03

Don't worry, there will be another U-Turn coming soon.

Crakeandoryx Mon 02-Nov-20 04:31:42

Very possibly but each day as it comes etc.

Kinshipcarer Mon 02-Nov-20 04:57:22

Almost definitely. This is an introduction to lockdown over Christmas IMO and Boris will simply extend it when the times comes.

WinnieTheW0rm Mon 02-Nov-20 04:58:56

Lots of us do:

BawJaws Mon 02-Nov-20 05:01:51

I think schools will close for the year on 1st December

Heartofstrings Mon 02-Nov-20 05:06:22

@BawJaws same. I'm pretty sure this partial lockdown is so that they can delay until December to allow a safer Christmas

Susanwouldntlikeit Mon 02-Nov-20 05:19:35

Have seen reported elsewhere that Boris locked firm now because they have in France and other European countries because if they are out of lockdown in December, he does not want to be going into it then and an outfit that ‘them forriners’ are getting Christmas and we’re not thlhmm
