1st world problem and not a priority in the grand scale of things however something important to us ...

Just wondered if anyone knew (or could suggest an opinion) on whether driving tests will be cancelled during Lockdown2?

My eldest has been learning to drive for over a year and is very ready. She would have taken her test in April but couldn't due to Lockdown1.

When tests finally reopened we got one for this Friday (Nov 6th) however as lockdown starts just before, we are scared it will be cancelled again and unable to rebook until next year.

Any ideas?

Can you ring the test centre and ask them?

DS has one booked for mid Nov after being stalled due to first lockdown and the time spent getting this test booked was ridiculous. Tests in Wales have been cancelled in Wales over their two week firebreak so I very much suspect they will be cancelled. There are huge knock on effects for us as a family because of this and I first world problem or not it is a massive deal in this house.

DS (19) has been learning for nearly 2 years now. His first test was cancelled because of the first lockdown. He has another date in a couple of weeks and is utterly defeated that it might be cancelled again.

No guarantee he would have passed of course and I keep trying to put a positive 'you'll get there eventually' spin on it but he is disheartened. Not least because he has a car sat outside he could use and not being able to drive is limiting his job hunting efforts.

It's not the end of the world but hugely frustrating.
