I don't mean where in the country, I mean what settings? I know they lie a lot about it not spreading in schools but is there any data about where they are at least purporting that it's spreading?

I just presume people are catching it anywhere that masks aren't worn and SD not being respected.

That’s a graphic produced by the “Hospitality Union” - presume the data is solid but just be aware of bias.

We’ve had two cases this week in our workforce of 30. We don’t know where they caught it but one worker has been doing emergency call ours at a university hall of residence the last month and the other has been doing essential maintenance in prison & hospital settings.

That pie graph was shared on one of the many covid stat/analysis feeds I follow on twitter. While I agree it could be skewed data I suspect it has an element of truth.
I believe I read that 4% of infection were being passed on in pubs and restaurants.

How do they know though.

Dh is a teacher. He travels every day on the train to work to teach classes of students in unventilated rooms. Last weekend we went to a restaurant, the theatre & shopping. If he caught it who knows where he could have picked it up.

Out of the 10 or so I know 6 from pubs 1 from work in a care home and the other 3 from family who were office workers

How come so many people are still being infected in care homes? Are staff bringing it in? Most care homes I know have been locked down for months.

In our house it was brought in by 14 year old DS who caught it at secondary school, closely followed by DD 13 and then I caught it. Secondary schools seem to be a hotbed for a Covid...

It’s rife in universities, and many students have not been self-isolating when they are supposed to. This includes using public transport, going to pubs and cafes, lots of house parties, etc.

It’s quite interesting that the primary and secondary schools have been put in as two separate entries.

No one knows for sure everyone just quick to blame schools parents go shop pub see family catch it give to child of course its going to spread in school. Am te3 and since pubs have closed reduced hours or whatever they done we have dropped from near 700 per 100000 to 400 so that data says enough to me but hey ho people will still say its schools an uni an care homes and everything else. But noooo its not the pubs.

The graphic data comes from this PHE report page 19. But it isn't relating to just COVID 19 cases (it includes seasonal flu as well) and it is not number of cases it is the number of reported outbreaks. The report notes that it has limitations for comparing across sectors. Simply because outbreaks in hospitals or educational setting are more likely to be reported to PHE than by a supermarket or pub.

Because there is a huge difference in numbers 250 kids in dd primary school 700 in sons secondary school. Also think its too with age.

I’m pretty sure I have it(did my test today). I rarely go out (not out of choice, but because of my DD and the weather) but I did use public transport to get to Great Ormond Street Hospital.., so maybe in that kind of way e.g. trains, doors, toilets etc?

My friend caught it at work, she’s a primary school teacher who lives alone and hadn’t been anywhere else. She’s also under 40 and very poorly.

Completely agree with you on this . I'm convinced universities going back had an absolute massive impact

I don't think its spreading as much through schools, normally a couple of cases and its dealt with. However er universities it is spreading fast.

I think the reason he has kept education going is to prevent tbe uni students all going home and spreading it outside of university towns. If everything slS is locked down they will be more likely to spread it amongst themselves, who either do not have symptoms or are mild than the rest of tbe population where its affects are more devastating.

What makes you think you have it i got tested last week convinced I had it (mainly because that's all you hear now) but test was negative so thankfully just a good old cold I had.

School.

I was in school for the last two weeks. I drove myself in my own car. I had shopping delivered because DH wfh and is vulnerable. I did not leave the house or mix with anyone apart from in school, where I work.

I tested positive for Covid this week. As did DC. As did DH.
