Does anyone think Scotland will go into lockdown?

I really want to gauge how likely it'll be for Scotland to go into lockdown, assuming that England is. What do you think?

Hope not. Think scotland had around 1500 cases today. Highlands where I'm in had something like 24 which is a big jump from last week.

I can't tell anything anymore. The news about teachers and seniors wearing masks in class knocked me for 6.

Saying that, I think they'll give the tier system and masks in class a chance to work. I guess it makes sense to lockdown over Christmas to stop family gatherings.

I really hope not considering the announcement of tiers and which area will be in what tier has literally just been done this week. Also some one posted a graph earlier today showing that Scotland’s cases are plateauing. Will be really cross if we are all locked down again when not every area has high case numbers

I don't think so. I think Nicola will give the tier thing a couple of weeks and then see.

I think if funding is agreed nationwide all 4 nations will lockdown.
If the English "lockdown" is simply the Scottish level 3 then we might not.

Where is the furlough coming from this time since is ends today? And you have to work so many of your hours to qualify? How can construction people do that or hospitality or retail if they are forced to close again

It depends on funding (and if Nic wants to be seen to be stricter than Boris...). But I hope not, as our case numbers have been falling slightly and many areas have very low numbers.

Robert Peston has tweeted the details. Construction will be encouraged to carry on.
