Hi I am new here . Can anyone tell me if it’s ok to tutor a child not in your household under tier 2?

If its not possible to do it over zoom and you can socially distance then yes. That being said if, for example, you are planning on 'tutoring' your grandchildren without payment I suspect the police would take a dim view.

I’m pretty sure you can have people in your home if it’s educational. Not sure how safe it would be though!

StatisticalSense, I’m I need Tier 3 and everyone I know is still mixing households. No one is going with the rules, I haven’t had family or friends in my home for a very long time though. I’m in the minority sticking with these rules, friends of mine are travelling all over the country and they are in Tier 3! There is no legislation or Police power to these rules so really mean nothing.

I'm a tutor. My view is tutoring many children in their houses is far too risky. One child...who knows

We did Zoom tutoring until Sept. Then had a tutor in our house until this week for the 11+. It’s a risk but allowed as we are tier 1. Probably more of a risk to the tutor?

The lessons have finished now and that feels sensible as cases are rising round here.

I’m a tutor and I think education is exempt. However, I’m doing it almost all over zoom. It’s easier at the moment as I can see their work close up and show them what I’m talking about.
I have a few children come to me but it’s hard with the need to socially distance. I’ve got one who won’t do internet lessons and I will continue to see her here if we go into tier 2 but the rest will have to go back onto internet lessons.
Personally I’d do it over the internet if you can, regardless of whether you’re technically allowed.

I tutor but it has been over zoom since March. It is not the time to go back to face to face, in my opinion.

Tutors, what do your insurance companies say? DH has specialist tutor insurance, and I wondered if he would be liable if took the virus into someone’s house?
