DH and I (retired, not in a bubble) are due to spend the weekend with my BIL who lives in a small village in Staffordshire. We live in East Sussex (currently tier 1) and Staffs is moving to tier 2 on Saturday. We are planning to drive there tomorrow (Friday) and return on Sunday. He is a single-person household and apart from Sunday lunch in a local pub (which we can obviously cancel) we are not planning on mixing with anyone else. Would you go?

Yes I would.

Can you bubble with him as he’s a single person household? If so then yes!

Yes. I wouldn't hesitate.

I live in Staffordshire and am peeved about going into tier 2, it's a huge area and the numbers vary hugely across the county, my village has low numbers yet we are being put into the higher tier due to the numbers in the larger towns.

You're not allowed to mix indoors with any other household.

However, you would be OK if you were to form a bubble with him. However you can't chop and change bubbles, so you wouldn't then be able to bubble with anyone else and neither would he.

Nope, would keep to the rules (assuming you don't intend to form a bubble).

@Gertie75 I’m in South Staffs and according to a local councilor our numbers are skewed because of there being two prisons with high rates within our area.
