Positive for Covid, dizzy and nauseous, anyone experience

I am day 6 of symptoms, felt so much better yesterday and most of today, but now I have the most horrendous nausea and dizziness for the past 4 hours. I am scared to get out of bed in case I collapse.

Is this Covid or something else ?

I'm also day 6 - tested positive on Sunday. I've felt flu-ey but ok so far, but I can feel my chest is getting tight. Is your temperature high? Maybe worth calling 111 x

Not sure but I have a nasty chest infection, weird smells and followed by the most serious dizziness. I woke up holding on to bed feeling exceptionally dizzy. It was frightening.,

DH was hospitalised with covid in April. He kept telling the doctors that his dizziness was awful but at the time they said it wasn't a symptom so it must be something else. Towards the end of his stay he became so dizzy he was extremely sick. After that they gave him tablets (travel sickness pills) which he still had to take for a few days when he got home. I had mild symptoms and also experienced dizziness but nothing like he had. Hope you feel better soon

If someone can get you some Buccastem from the chemist they might help. They're for nausea caused by vertigo or migraine

Mine started with with dizziness. Have you applied for a test? Would also advise those with tight chest/breathlessness to send off for a pulse oximeter to measure oxygen sats levels.

Doh! Sorry can see you are positive! There are lots of threads on here about people experiencing Covid. They're called the Lungs threads (slightly different names in each one) and there's usually a link at the end of each thread. I think the first one was called'my lungs are on fire'.

Yes COVID can cause dizziness. It's not just a respiratory disease, it impacts multiple organs including neurology.

However the dizziness could also be a symptom of low oxygen levels - if they're below 94 you'd want to go in for treatment or at least call 111 for advice.

You can buy an oximeter to tell your oxygen levels for about £20 on Amazon.

I had horrendous nausea and vomiting (4 times a day at one point). So did several other people I know.

I had to keep buckets by my bed and the sofa, as I was too weak to get to the bathroom

The nausea and dizziness eventually passed, still feeling woozy ! I do have an oximeter, which is now indicating around 94 or 95, it was at 92.

So much for Covid feeling like a flu ! Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Can I ask how you are feeling now? I'm 5 days after a positive test and everything is spinning. It's awful. No other symptoms but crazy dizziness and headache x

Hi @IHeartKingThistle it does pass. It was probably 3 weeks for me. Bloody awful at the time though isn't it!

I was nauseous with covid and ended up vomiting. That symptom only lasted one day, thankfully.

@MrsBennetsnerves I felt dizzy the day I tested positive and had a slight temperature, then the following morning I was sick, very unlike me, that was 18 October and I'm completely recovered after having a couple of weeks of feeling very tired

It's covid. It's a horrible virus. It keeps coming and going for weeks. I'm afraid you have to just go with it. Rest when you can and drink hot drinks.

@IHeartKingThistle, I am so sorry you are struggling, it absolutely takes it toll/

I am feeling much better now and have been for the past few days, but experience up to now has been that I could feel better for a day and then get hit with another 'bout' that wipes me out. I am still suffering from fatigue and definitely my stamina has been really affected, I was training 2x week before I got covid, I really doubt I could last a 10 minute session now.

I posted this thread last week when I was feeling horrendous again with nausea, dizziness and headache.
