I'm choosing to declare that it is in itself good news, that we could fill 40 pages with good news! Grin

It’s just been reported. I’m assuming it’s exactly the same info as it’s behind a paywall

That could be only 4 weeks away. I always thought the Oxford vaccine was the front runner so either Pfizer have overtaken or Oxford are playing cards close to their chest?! Still it’s welcome news

I suppose Pfizer must have overtaken. They were never that far behind anyway, were they?

I think it just depends on which trial has enough participants contract the virus first. So a matter of luck and levels of virus in the population.

I have been told that astrazeneca are expecting results end of November and are on a rolling review until these come through. Hopefully that means one of these vaccines will have results and approval shortly after! I've got all my fingers crossed. I think I will take anything to see an end to this!

And of course the Oxford vaccine is still on hold in the US....cynical me says is that because they wanted a US vaccine to be approved first?!

@chri55ie this is what my hospital consultant at Oxford told me (but he wouldn't say whether that's general instruction from NHS England for vaccine rollout or because he knows something) so probably not official line

That's what I've been wondering. U.S have been dissing the Oxford Vaccine for months.
