FFS kids have been back for a couple of weeks, and we all have colds and sore throats.

Shows how easily things are transmitted even with hand sanitising and bubbles.

Both primary and secondary in our area full of snotty kids.

Yes, I know its not a symptom of Covid, but the speed that this cold has gone round worries me. How is it being passed on if people are catching their coughs and hand sanitising?

Feeling shit, so thought I'd have a whinge. Paracetamol are wearing off ...

I've had one it's just gone yesterday. And I wear PPE in one of the schools I work in! Indeed everything is going to spread as it usually does every year....

Well what did you expect, we've suppressed their immune systems for the last 6months.

It's very standard for kids to get colds after returning from summer holidays. Even moreso given lockdown etc. My mum was a teacher (retired for 5 years now) and said she saw it every year. Seasons changing, colder weather, kids mixing...its bound to happen.

We've all got / had it. I miss the good old days when we saw no one and there was not a sniffle in sight!

Six month old had his very first cold, caught from his brother. TBH I don't mind too much, he needs some immunity when he goes to nursery at one year.

@Firef1y72 true.

I rarely catch stuff from the kids, so I'm feeling sorry for myself.

Next dose of cold&flu is kicking in now!

sits on hands

I have no idea where I've caught mine (though I've given it to DD). The only places I go (apart from the occasional walk with DH) are supermarkets two or three times a week and the very occasional 'non essential' shop, and a two minute metro ride/five minute bus ride home from the supermarket once a week. Everyone's wearing masks in those situations and of course I'm being fastidious about hygiene. DH is wfh so is going out even less than I am and DD lost her job at the start of lockdown and only goes out to help me with shopping. None of us are meeting anyone (we've nobody to meet!) and me and DH have only been to a pub a few times since March, the last being four weeks ago now.

So it must've been picked up at the supermarket/in under five minutes on public transport, with SD and masks. Doesn't fill me with confidence that I'll be able to avoid Covid tbh Sad

Correction. .. now I've got cold number two!
This is what immunosuppressants and working in schools does to a human though!
