How long were you/ your child ill with Covid-19

My DS became ill on Friday with a mild cough. We had him tested and he has tested positive.
We are on day 6 now and he’s just developed a temperature.
I’m interested in knowing the progression and how long symptoms lasted for other people?
Also if someone else in the household caught it how long after the first person did they show symptoms? Our household are all okay at the moment thankfully.

Sorry. That was unhelpful. I'm sure your DS will be over it quickly. My friends DP had it (nurse) and was sick with coughing, temp and fatigue for about 2 weeks, tired for 2 weeks then fully recovered. My friend and her DD never caught it, or of they did they were asymptomatic. Hope he's well soon and you escape it. Must be a worry.

My dc was ill for about 2 weeks but it got worse then better. I was ill for about 3 weeks but the fatigue lasted into months and even now I get days where I'm just exhausted. I had it mid March.

DC about 2 weeks and like you've said got worse before better. I had it for 3 weeks but the exhaustion lasted months and even now if I over do it I get dizzy, exhausted and ache everywhere. Each wee I feel a bit stronger. We had it mid march.

I was ill in bed (not with post viral fatigue but actively ill eg temperatures, cough, headaches, breathlessness, pleurisy, numb limbs) for the best part of three months. Six months in and still not fully recovered.

Bloody hell. Kind of regret asking now.
Has nobody had mild symptoms?

I had the fatigue and aches on and off for two weeks, felt a bit feverish for a couple of days early on. I was sent home from work for a third week because I was still coughing but I was otherwise fine. Couldn't smell anything for two weeks.

Could've worked through with the same symptoms if I didn't have sick leave and there wasn't a pandemic IYKWIM?

Omg. Hope your ds is ok. But I keep reading posts where their child has mild cough and tests positive. I wonder how many kids are in school and are positive ! My son had mild cough. Tested this morning, waiting for results.

I was off work with fairly mild symptoms for 2 weeks.
But 6 months later I still have symptoms of fatigue, dizziness, some neurological symptoms too.
It's not great and I have come across a fair few people who have had a relapse in symptoms around 6 months after testing positive.

After my experience I would 100% say you can’t tell the difference between a cold and Covid. His cough was productive and not continuous. He had a blocked nose and sore throat too.

We had it as a family. Hubby slightly ill for a week. Teen daughter quite poorly for 3 weeks. 2 younger children slightly sore throats for a few days. Me still not 100% 6 months on. One child didn't get it or asymptomatic.

DD had a cough for a few weeks. DH and I were mildly unwell for one evening a week apart. I got a bit short of breath a week later.

OP there’s another thread tonight asking for people’s experience of mild Covid - if this thread is making you anxious, you might find that a good balance to the replies on this one
