Oh finally! We've been waiting ages for Season 2. People kept promising it'd be released after Bournemouth, BLM, Easter etc.

Me too. I'm so sick of hearing about it! Let's get it done!

Well that explains my building sense of overwhelming dread.

But it won’t be done will it - it will last all winter.

Oooh thanks for stating the fucking obvious Boris, it's not like we didn't know it was coming!

Let's hope it doesn't follow a Rambo arc.

But Boris is a bit late. We've been in a second wave for several weeks already.

Thought we would get to half term at least

Beebityboo · 18/09/2020 18:13

I just really hope they do away with the fines for schools soon. I was really scared to send them back at the beginning of term and now I am completely terrified (have a disability that makes me more vulnerable).
It is completely disgusting that disabled and vulnerable families are having to choose between deregistering or paying fines. I just want to get my whole family through this winter unscathed.
No one should be forced to send their children into school during a pandemic.

I knew it was coming but was hoping not quite yet. Going to be a long old winter.

This.

It can't be news to anyone who has paid even the slightest attention to what has been happening in France and Spain recently. Presumably UK people think the WHO referring to 'Europe' excludes the UK.

There are a worrying number of people who think that Brexit means we aren’t part of Europe any longer. Fuck knows where they think we actually are. It’s not like the U.K. is geographically mobile, is it?

This quote in the article really pissed me off "the British people have done an amazing job - they've brought that peak down by discipline" but that "people find it difficult to keep this up, it's difficult to maintain that discipline for a long time".
All our own fault, not at all the responsibility of the absolute clowns in power and certainly nothing to do with the fact that our testing system is in the toilet, that the young were actively encouraged to go out and spend money in restaurants, that schools were sent back with no extra funding and safety measures that will do diddly squat to stave off a virus that is spread by aerosol.
And even now, even now they have given notice to care homes that they will once again have to accept Coronavirus patients. This is manslaughter.
Sorry for the rant but I am so mad and so so upset that it has gotten this bad, this quickly. It didn't have to be like this!!

Report
mosscarpet · 18/09/2020 18:24

anyone get the impression the governemnt and those in charge are constantly playing catch up with what the rest of the country already know? This is very much along the same lines and Dido whatshername stating that no one had expected the rise in demand for testing isnt it!
