Burning in chest and back

I've got no temperature at all, can smell and taste fine and no cough.

However I've had a sore throat for a week and a heavy burning sensation in the front of my chest and at the top of my back.

I won't get a test as I've not got any of the three main symptoms, but has anyone had the same as me and tested positive?

I saw my grandma about 8 days ago and I'm terrified in case she gets ill.

Maybe you should contact your GP as burning sensation in your chest doesnt sound great, and isnt really a symptom of covid or a common cold. Other illnesses still exist so it might not be covid but it could be something else.

I had a burning feeling in my chest when I had it and none of the three main symptoms.

I had head ache, tiredness and achy muscles which developed into burning chest and difficulty breathing.

A burning sensation in your lungs is totally a sign of COVID- just take a look at the first of the lungs threads on here. It could also be the sign of a chest infection.

OP you should speak to your gp. They may ask you to get tested,, or may prescribe antibiotics.

Op I had this for a week. Then after a week I got a cough, the next day lost taste and smell.

Got a test it was negative.

People have said it was negative because I was too late testing. I don't know if that's true but keep an eye on your symptoms.

Hope you feel better soon.

Op the three symptoms we test for are very narrow, there are long running... Covid lungs threads about this very symptoms..

Please please get tested, why wouldn't you!

Burning lungs were the first symptom of an illness I got in March which doctors presume was covid (no test available then).
Don't be left wondering, get yourself a test... And hope you feel better soon.

Yes to burning sensation. I've had what I believe yo be covid 19 twice now, once in early March when I was really ill with it but not to a hospital extent. Couldn't get tested as no tests available but GP has confirmed it was highly likely to be covid. Lasted weeks into months.

And again in the last few weeks, exactly the same only much milder symptoms but still burning lungs and a feeling of burning windpipe as well. It's a very strange sensation and not one I've had prior to this year. My test came back negative but I have been in contact with someone who tested positive. I believe I've had a false negative test and it was covid.

On both occasions I had no temperature, very limited cough which came much later on and it a mild decrease in taste and smell. I didn't notice this until it's come back and can tell the difference. I've had exhaustion coming and going, dizzy head and headaches, sore throat, very sore red eyes and breathlessness doing basic daily tasks. Yet I still tested negative.

The testing window has closed for me now so I will never know. It's no wonder lockdown isn't working when it's suspected the tests are giving almost a quarter of false negatives.
