In what order do you think restrictions would be brought back in?

I am just wondering what would be first. Closing cafes and pubs? Closing sports buildings? Closing schools? I know a lot of people think these should now stay open and economy needs to move on. But if numbers start rising again exponentially the government will probably need to react.

None. The govt keep saying the evidence shows there isn’t transmission in such settings. 🤷‍♀️ Obviously that may be a load of bollocks but it would be a big U turn.

I think and hope that schools will be low down the list. People cant work effectively with kids at home, especially young ones. And we need people to keep working.

I think schools will be a very, very last resort, I do worry childcare settings will close though at some point. I wouldn't be overly surprised if the advice changes (again) to work from home if you can.

I would agree guys. I think the government have tried to implement a strict 6 person rule in the hope this will be enough and other areas won’t need to be shut down. But if numbers continue to rise, they will have to make further changes. Which I know they won’t want to but they got so much flack last time for not locking down soon enough that I do t think they will want to make that mistake again.

WHF, no mixing with other household, schools and then pubs/restaurants and lastly non essential retail. Christmas is approaching so they will want people to support the economy. Approx 8million have Primary aged children which is far lower than employees in retail/leisure etc so economically schools closing first makes sense. Plus they are huge gatherings compared to other places and can be done remotely.

Limiting household meeting seems to be what they do first in local lockdowns, so I guess that is step one. In Bolton they have said takeaway only for hospitality, so I assume that is one of the next steps. Schools have a published order of closing should it be needed, next step down from full opening is part time secondary (with primary full time), then secondary online and the very last step is primary online - so closing primary schools would be a very last resort.

I'm a teacher and I really really hope schools stay open. My own mental health is far better when I'm at work doing what I love. The children are so happy to be back too. It's lovely. I just hope we can stay open through the winter.

Limiting meeting in people's houses. Stopping any meeting in houses or gardens. Then Caerphilly have taken the step to ban movement in and out of the county itself. May shut some up close businesses. But schools and other places of business will be last to close. They've said as much in briefings.

Schools should only be closed as a last resort. Education needs to be prioritised over social eating and drinking. I personally think alcohol and social distancing does not always go together.

Alevel and GCSE students cannot work to the same level remotely and unfair on some students eg GCSE PE or Food Tech or Chemistry. Plus the divide between affluent and deprived is likely to be increased.

I am currently 27weeks pregnant and worried about implications for baby if test positive but I also have a 14yr old daughter who is in a large school with 2 cases confirmed already. I don’t think it’s fair for her education to be put on hold though she has been told to just keep as safe as possible and not be reckless.

I think anyone able to continue working from home should, close pubs and government to advise people to limit the times they are shopping if can E.g. if can do one big shop rather than going to shops every couple days.

Banning indoor meetings with other households, banning outdoor meetings with other households, WFH where possible and avoiding public transport, blended learning for secondaries, pubs and restaurants shut, secondaries move to online learning, gyms, leisure and beauty shut, primaries shut.

The overwhelming evidence is that transmission is primarily amongst friends and family.

I've said time and again on these thread - when people say, why can I go to the shops, pubs, work but not visit my family - you don't hug the shop worker, the waiter, the check out person - but most people (apart from the perfect people who exist on mums net) do not socially distance properly from friends and family.

wen you leave the restaurant, you chair is sanitised (ok, I don't actually think that makes a difference but it happens) but then at home, if friends leave, you don't sanitise he sofa

hell, most people don't even stay 1m away from from friends and family

if you meet them in public, there is a chance someone will be monitoring it (covid Marshalls?)

So I think missing households in private will be the first to go

I bloody hope not, I'm fed up with working from home. I'm back in the office part time and it's so nice to be able to clear the work crap away. I have no work life balance when I'm working from home.

I actually think it depends on the situation, some offices can be made safe. In my office we all drive in so no public transport, we can socially distance and only half the staff are in at one time, we wear masks away from our desks etc. so I think it's about as safe as it can be.

I agree indoor meetings with friends must be very high risk. Almost surprised that hasn’t been banned already actually. I only meet friends outdoors and it works fine. It’s a small sacrifice to make really.

Yep, they’ll just keep limiting contact between households and families.

I agree if they close anything else then there won’t be anything left to open. Many businesses have either gone under or are on their knees.

I believe Bolton restaurants and pubs are take away only and under a curfew (although I didn't read the details)
