DC11 just woke up with sniffles and feeling sick. Pretty sure not CV.
He is going to be off school.
What do I do about other DC?
What do I do about going to work?

However, going to make sure this is not the case obviously.

My interpretation is that if he doesn't have any of the three main symptoms no-one has to isolate (but I can understand keeping him off school just to see how he goes).

Under the guidance the other DC can go to school. It's up to you about work. I don't think we can all stop going about our business over colds, it's unrealistic. But D&V are a symptom of Covid in children. So I'd explore the 'feeling sick'.

if he doesn't have any of the 3 symptoms then the others go to school, you can go to work.

If he gets one of the main symptoms you all have to self isolate and he needs a test.

This is happening in my house too today. Ds14 is staying off school after being sick and feeling rubbish. Dd will be going to school and I'm going to work.

I would do exactly what you would normally do if he felt like this - presumably, keep him off, arranging childcare and getting the others in.

I have not heard him cough yet, so very minor.

Ah xpost, just saw the cough...

if he has had more than 3 bouts of coughing in 24 hours thats a persitant cough and you all need to stay at home until he's been tested.

Sounds like a cold.
Keep him off and send the others.

Monitor temp regularly.

Schools are just back, we had the same last month in Scotland

A study just found that the 3 main symptoms for adults don’t appear to be the same in children.

covid.joinzoe.com/post/back-to-school

According to this, symptoms we should be aware of in children are:

Fatigue
Headache
Fever
Sore throat
Loss of appetite

No mention of cough at all.

I've had the sniffles and nausea for the last couple of days too . Covid hasnt even crossed my mind, cough and temp is what I'm looking out for .
This is going to cause so much health anxiety, which I used to have , so I know how awful it is . :(
