Conspiracy theories

I'm not saying we should never question what we're being told and I'm not denying that it's possible that there could be elements of truth in some of it. But is anyone else sick of seeing so called covid conspiracies from people on social media constantly? In the past 24 hours I've seen people boasting about breaking lockdown last time and stating they'll do it again if it happens. I've seen people discouraging and even mocking others for wearing masks. All the conspiracies about the government keeping us cashless and trying to control us. And the 2 bit celebs like Denise Welch jumping on the bandwagon and getting everyone fired up.

Regardless of your opinions is it not best to just play it safe until we know more about the virus?

Why are people so arrogant to assume that their opinions are factual? Especially the idiots on social media who haven't even bothered to do any proper research and just believe everything they read on Facebook.

Totally agree. I’ve unfortunately lost a friendship due to her constantly harping on about conspiracys.

I either ignore them or call them out for their complete ignorant stupidity. But then, I enjoy an argument.

I will admit I don't always feel confident calling them out as I don't know all the facts myself. I try to only argue about things that I have solid knowledge on and can argue with conviction --and knowing I'm not talking shite.

But it seems to me that some people just enjoy the feeling of flouting the rules and being 'anarchists'. Not only is it selfish but it's potentially dangerous and definitely irresponsible to encourage others to do so too.

I know someone who thinks it's not real but who also thinks it was deliberately released from a Chinese laboratory. If she's going to believe any old batshit nonsense she should at least be consistent.

I have one particular covid warrior on my Facebook at the moment who is encouraging everyone to not have the vaccine saying it's dangerous. One woman commented saying she would be having it and was promptly called a sheep and an idiot.

Now he may have a point. This is a new vaccine. But what I want to know is how he's privy to all this classified info about it.

Ask him. If he mentions “big pharma” or Bill Gates he won’t accept an argument.

Indeed, how is he privy to it? Answer - he's not. There is an awful amount of shit-stirring going on and it's upsetting/depressing/irritating depending on how you feel about it. There are numerous possible vaccines that may end up being approved. We don't know which ones as yet. They are all very different therefore we don't actually know what will be in any that do eventually get approved. This is a lot of scaremongering based on ridiculous conspiracy theories and I personally think it's more dangerous than the virus!

@FelicityPike Hilariously he's been ranting about Bill Gates today. Matt Hancock is working closely with him apparently.

I have an idiot on my Facebook who says the vaccine is so they can know where we are at all times. This is the same person who logs into Facebook and tags her every move -Asda, school gates, McDonald’s and so on. You can’t argue with stupid.

Anti mask posts on Facebook are heavily outweighed by the PA mask enforcer posts.
