Me and dh just been out for dinner. Cheap and cheerful place, food not brilliant but half price so can't complain. Social distancing in place, took contact details at door, hand sanitiser at entrance and exit, paid contact less. Our table has plenty space around it.

Still felt too dodgy. Didn't enjoy it.
Won't be doing that again for a while.

Dh said it felt too dodgy too.

Times have really changed. We used to love eating out.

I don't blame you. I have no plans of going to a restaurant anytime soon. I rarely eat out anyway so I don't miss it.

Ah that’s a shame, but your choice.
We’re away and have eaten out 6 times over the past week. Plenty of hygiene measures in place, social distancing adhered to, contact details taken, lovely experience all round. We’ll be doing plenty more of it.
Shopping however... what with people thinking they no longer have to social distance as they’re wearing a mask, definitely won’t be doing that for a while.

There’s only 16 active cases in my city, I’ve been out for dinner 5/6 times since restrictions eased. Felt great! Life is slowly getting back to normal for us now.

I'm ok with shopping for some weird reason!!

We've eaten out a few times. There is a very low case rate where I live. It felt fine.

We ate out tonight for the first time since mid March.
Usually do weekly-ish.
Brought the dog, ate early, were outside.
Was nice. I felt very very anxious going but not once we were there.
Happy to support a local business trying really hard during lockdown takeaways (discounts, free bottles of wine etc)

Oh I just said same to DH.

I was expecting staff to wear masks - we ate outdoors. They didn't ask for our details I voluntarily filled them in on their website online

The staff didn't SD and they put on outdoor heaters. Food was great as it's a local gastro pub but all staff mingling - really didn't feel safe at all.

My husband did mention he wants to go to the pub this Saturday (first time as they have just been allowed to open indoors recently here) and my first feeling is I do not really want to. Kind of scared.
Let's see how it goes.

Oh menus not paper like a plastic almost - and gel at door. Also when leaving big queue to get into restaurant so I put my mask on and people moved out of my way

I'm the same OP. We have had loads of take aways and eaten outside at pubs and restaurants and enjoyed it. However we ate inside whilst on holiday (had take aways from the same place, food is amazing) but didn't enjoy dining in. Not sure why as have been at work throughout and have been to the shops. Felt safe but couldn't relax.

I understand OP. We went out a couple of weeks ago but didn’t really enjoy it either. It felt too risky, I felt too aware of hygiene and wasn’t comfortable passing peoples tables to get to the bathroom. They kept the door open for infection control and it was frozen. I’d rather have a take away or make something myself.

I've eaten out three times in the past week and not once were staff wearing masks and came fairly close as they have to but other than that I've enjoyed it.

Today week took advantage of the eat out to help out scheme and loved the bill lol.
The other two times were at the weekend, one was at the Ivy which was lovely to get back to a proper fine dinner!

We’ve been on mini breaks and eaten in lots of restaurants, it all feels normal and lovely. Carried on with takeaways during lockdown.

I'm not happy to eat inside just yet. We've eaten in quite a few beer gardens / restaurant terraces though over the last few weeks.

It just feels too soon to be sitting inside, though I'm not going to judge others for doing it.

I've eaten out a few times. I've really enjoyed it, feels like life is getting back to normal.

I'm on the relaxed side about Covid though to be honest.

That's your choice. No one is making you go.

I've loved eating out again. Felt safe and been happy to support restaurants.

I did the same today. We took the food out in the end and ate in the park but it’s still felt scary. So many people out. Everywhere packed and restaurants so busy. I’m glad for the businesses but I did not feel safe. Incidentally I saw a member of staff tidy up the customer toilet. Tidy loo roll, flush loo etc. All without gloves and without hand washing afterwards. She was touching her face too. It made the experience worse.

I'm the same as @Waxonwaxoff0. Just felt nice and quite normal to me. Didn't worry one bit

Restaurants around us have been really busy. All staff I've seen have been wearing masks though.

Unless you are in Manchester, Bradford, Aberdeen or Leceister you need to address your perception of this risk. Go and find out how many hospitalisations and how many deaths there have been in your area in the last three weeks. I bet you it's less than you think.

If the restaurant is doing all it should be re safety measures and there's nothing making it feel dodgy other than your own perception of the risk, you need to reset your risk perception.

I went to a restaurant on Monday. She insisted we'd pave to leave (he has health anxiety). But actually it was so so well managed, table service, card payment only, track and trace forms. I felt safe, as did dh. Far FAR safer than shops, where distancing is imaginary and mask etiquette is accepted as over the mouth and under the nose Hmm
