Most places that have eased lockdown measures, are seeing an increase in the number of cases. So there is no way around it (at least in the short-term), live a "normal life" and increase the risk for everyone (there are no "personal risk" in a pandemic).

I see a lot of people in mumsnet saying that we suffer too much to save the lives of 80 year olds. While I find this cold assessment horrible on its own, there are so many case of under 60s suffering badly. This is a harrowing picture of 63 year old woman:

Sure, the risk is low. Sure, we deal with risks all the time. But we also try to mitigate risks all the time. We use seat belts, and we look before we cross the road, we use helmets, etc There are many reasons why someone needs to go into work, and those are understandable. But do people "need" to go to raves, beaches, cinemas? do we really need to go into shops and buy a new summer outfit?

Life needs to be different, and we need to find new ways to make our economy tick. Lots of opportunities in new fields. Lets support each other and look for new ways to make the world go around.

‘Most places that have eased lockdown measures, are seeing an increase in the number of cases.’

Simply not true.

There are isolated pockets popping up in some (not all) countries that have eased lockdown but for the most part they are successfully containing them.

I'm quite liking shopping online and working at home so will be continuing to do so.
I am looking forward to life getting back to a more 'normal' state but will wait and see for a little while yet how safe that is.

Raves are still not permitted anyway, so irrelevant to your post.
Apart from that... do my children need clothes and shoes that fit them? Yes they do. Do people need leisure activities? In order to live a balanced, healthy life, arguably yes they do. Are things like beaches good for our mental wellbeing? Yes they are.
You are welcome to stay at home, as long as you would like to. My family and I will be resuming our lives, while taking reasonable precautions.

Using a seatbelt doesn't mean anyone working in retail or leisure gets laid off and can't pay their mortgages.

We haven't got any "new ways" in the short term. I applied for an admin job this month and there were 55 applications.

Staying at home now is the equivalent of avoiding crossing the road at all. Not the equivalent of looking before we cross it. There are measures in place to minimise risk.

How many more people do you want to lose their jobs? The retail sector is fucked as it is and it isn't "only" the people directly employed by the stores who will be affected by it. Not to mention other sectors that have also suffered terribly.

It seems the majority of us want our lives back thank god! We absolutely cannot stay locked away much longer, it's extremely damaging to all of society.

In fact, the government need to let more places open up. The beaches are packed because there is nothing else to do. They need to get the pools and splash parks open too.

So many things wrong with that. I mean do people really 'need' to use cars, ride bikes, or cross the road. Surely we could all stay in our areas and homes forevermore and stay safe,

Places are mitigating risks, that's why there is extra cleaning, queuing, booking, no trying things on and social distancing in place.

Life is still far, far, far away from normal.
