NHS England have refused to support the ZOE app for months

I posted before about how surprising it is that we’ve never heard the ZOE app mentioned in any covid briefing in England or endorsed by any minister. I’d only ever heard of it mentioned on MumsNet. Their website says that “It is endorsed by the Welsh Government, NHS Wales, the Scottish Government & NHS Scotland” but makes no mention of England.

Now Tim Specter, director ot research who's behind the app, confirmed today that the government has refused to engage with ZOE because it saw it as a rival to its own app, which utterly failed.

How many blunders do we have to keep tolerating from this shitty government?

Sunak’s father-in-law’s company is (or was) responsible for a lot of NHS IT related failures. I would be shocked if the failure wasn’t down (at least in part) to the company’s ‘yes at all costs’ culture.

Wow, and the contract tracing app had something to do with Cummings sister, didn't it? Aren't they a bunch of nepotism's?!

It’s a nonsense anyway asks for participants gender identity and sex assigned at birth. But actually men are at higher risk so they should just ask what sex people are 🙄

@onlinelinda - the sister link to Cummings was just someone with same surname, no relation.

However it was awarded to Cummings mate -

gassylady I had to register to take a Covid 19 test today - courtesy of Zoe - and, as far as I remember, the online form offered Male / Female / Prefer not to say.

That’s interesting I wonder if they have changed their main form too?

I think it's the testing website that asks for gender etc.
