Has anyone had covid19, felt a bit crap for a few day and then been fine?

Just as per the title really. I know of one death,( age 66 with underlying health conditions) and 3 people who have had it, been unwell (like really unwell but at home) for about 7 weeks now, keep getting better then knocked back again.

Has anyone had it, and just mildly, a few days in bed and then bounced back?
I’ve resigned myself to getting it, but wondering what my chances are. Have small children so it’s worrying. Not sure how I would isolate from them or who would look after them if I couldn’t.

For most people it’s really quite mild. In the hospital I work in almost 50% of us tested so far have antibodies in the blood. Most of us have not been ill with it. When we’ve done routine weekly nose/throat swabs in recent weeks a surprising number test positive with no symptoms, or mild headaches. When I was infected before lockdown I had mild aches and a low grade temp, then felt a bit short of breath a week later. I’ve had worse colds.

My husband had it in March. We only know as he had antibody test. He only got the test as he lost his sense of taste. The weekend he was “ill” he lay down for an hour on the Saturday but was otherwise just “a bit under the weather”. He’d been out with a friend that day. We skipped church on the Sunday but he didn’t have a day off work on Monday. This was the week before they announced school closures on the Wednesday.
I got a cough and other regular cold symptoms that week and but don’t have antibodies.... 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't know for sure if I had it but I had a meeting at work with someone who came down with it 2 days later, not hospitalised but it hit them hard. Two weeks later, end of March, my lungs felt a bit sore, as if I'd been out running in cold air. Had a fever for a couple of hours, but had dinner and it went away. Two days later woke up feeling like I had a hangover, headache, sore throat, tickly cough, felt progressively worse and spent rest of day on sofa with a bit of a fever. The next day I was a bit weak but fine, next 2 days I was breathless, couldn't talk in whole sentences, then I was fine again. Am pretty sure I had it, mildly.

I'm not sure. If I did it was very mild. Back in march before furlough a collegue came to work with a fever. She admitted she had been much worst during her days off. Everyone was shocked she came to work given the warnings but she needed the money. A few days later two of us that worked the closest to her were feeling unwell. Neither of us had a fever or a cough. Sore head, very sore throat. But we did have a weird feeling of pressure in the lungs. Light breathing problems. We also felt weak but not enough to be off sick. My husband later experienced this. We all say we have never felt that feeling in the lungs before.

My SIL had it (was tested) and mainly had a headache. She continued to look after her 3 kids alone throughout.

Thank you everyone. I’m glad you are all well now and didn’t have to deal with the horrible serious.l symptoms.
I appreciate you always hear about the extreme cases as there is nothing really to say about the mild ones.

If you haven’t already had it I think there is now a pretty good chance that you never will. Levels are very low in the community and I’m pretty hopeful of a vaccine in the medium term. I don’t think catching it is an inevitability.

My mum had it in April (confirmed with a test, she's NHS staff). It did knock her for six for about 2 weeks but she recovered and she's fit as a fiddle now, no sign of lasting symptoms that other people talk about.

I am reasonably sure I had it in March, along with several colleagues - cough, fever, no taste or smell, breathlessness. We were all able to continue working (from home!) throughout for the most part while feeling somewhat unwell. For me, the worst was the breathlessness which persisted for several weeks and the tiredness but I wasn’t knocked out at any point.

Me, (and dp). Fever lasted 2 doses of paracetamol, sniffles and lost taste and smell for over a week (no taste at all, it's so weird). He had a fever for 2 days plus the taste and smell thing. I'm not 100% sure it was covid as no tests in March. We had gone on a long haul holiday just 3 weeks prior so our vitamin d was fully topped up, I wonder if that helped as we are middle ages so should have been worse.

Yes, I was unwell for a week and a half and that was it. It was worse than a cold but not as bad as flu for me. I was too sick to work or do jobs round the house for about five of those days.

One of my mates thinks she’s had it before lockdown. She’s a teacher. She had two days of what she thought was a migraine, then lost her smell & taste & developed a dry cough. She said she felt as unwell as when you’ve got a bad cold. You don’t fancy doing anything but you aren’t that bad that you can’t. She was able to continue to care for her 2 year old albeit with extra telly! Nearly all the staff in her school had identical symptoms. However my friends hubby & daughter had none!

My mum had it (confirmed). She had a high temp, fatigue and a cough. The temp and fatigue lasted around 3 days, the cough about 10 days.
DH we believe had it before widespread testing. He was in an office and small meeting room with a confirmed case then came down with symptoms 5 days later, and Dr’s diagnosed it was Covid.
He had a high temp, a short episode of vomiting and diarrhoea, severe fatigue for 3/4 days, headaches and a cough. He was better after 5 days bar a residual cough.

My friend's elderly mum had it (tested positive). She lives in sheltered housing and is in her 80s. Not even a symptom! Her husband had it (which is why she was tested) and he was a bit more poorly but not much.

I had a weird 'episode' about a week before lockdown. Shocking headache, felt like I couldn't breathe, tingly limbs. I had to lie down, couldn't have stayed upright. It lasted a day. Next day I was fine but still out of breath on occasions where I wouldn't normally have been out of breath.

Of course I wasn't tested so who knows. But never experienced anything like it before.

A relative had it. Just felt a bit ‘off’ and went off her food. She was very surprised to test positive. Was back in work 7 days later.

I tested negative when I was ill, which lasted about a week. But have since tested positive for antibodies. I had what was a typical cold/cough but now 3 months on and the long lasting effects are really weird. Rubber lips (?) and acute sleeplessness. I think even when mild it is weird as fuck.

I had this! Very sore head /awful chills,bad tummy ,no smell or taste and painful stabbing feeling in the upper back! Have cough anyway due to Asthma so not sure about that.Week before ,we had been to a charity dinner ,and loads of people in a fairly big room but all crowded together .Seems possible but at £140 per test not going to be sure!

I’ve had with no cough or fever, felt a bit meh for a few days but could carry on with normal tasks, only knew I had it due to being tested as NHS. DH had it with mild cold symptoms and mild fever for one day hence a test. I would have gone to work in normal times. We’re both in our 50s and DH has a heart condition.

Yeah, I know a few people who've had it all mildly, one pregnant lady who had absolutely no symptoms whatsoever. They said it was just like the flu.

I’m pretty sure I had it but didn’t have a test. Started with a couple of days of sniffles and slightly raised temp (nothing to write home about - I was still walking the dog everyday in the park) - but then I suddenly lost my sense of taste and smell overnight and for about 8 days (this wasn’t a ‘symptom’ then but there was a lot of online chat about it). Then one day of dreadful ‘hangover’, followed about 48 hours later by one deeply unpleasant sensation of having been poisoned (but no sickness or diarrhoea), then about three days of having to just close my eyes and rest, and then 100% better. No recurrence thank goodness. This was all about 6+ weeks ago now.

I'm convinced I had it in March. I had a sudden headache (sorted with paracetamol) followed by a weird feeling in my chest, like my lung capacity wasn't what it should be. Also off my food for a couple of days. A friend that I'd been with came down with it about the same time but was in bed for a few days with temp.

I was slightly unwell, headaches, lethargy for 2-3 days around Feb. Travelled to Spain and Tenerife around that time. Completely fine since.
Just had a positive antibody test last week.

I definitely had something at the beginning of February. Coming home from dance class in the evening I suddenly got a really sore throat and a headache. Woke up the following day and went to work but was coughing all day and felt dreadful by the time I got home - shivering and I couldn't get warm. Felt rough over the weekend - everything ached and I lost my appetite. I had 2 days off the following week and then went back to work but I couldn't shake the cough. It felt like I'd breath in, something would catch and that would set me off again. It took a good couple of weeks before I felt like myself but for a few weeks after my in breath sounded as though it was catching if you know what I mean.

It was only a little while after that my mum revealed she had been quite worried about me as it wasn't like me to have something like that. DH had one night when he came home and couldn't get warm and went to bed early but other than that was ok.

I was never tested. At the time they were concentrating on people who had travelled and we hadn't. Having said that in my office there were a couple of people who had been skiing in Italy and France so who knows?
