With regard to coronavirus
Seriously thinking of getting the loose skin on my tummy removed, three kids and 1 cs has left my tummy with loose skin
I think you’d be lucky to get it done this year. I was due for a revision of a breast reduction which went wrong. Booked in February for end April, has been rebooked twice by the hospital and my October date was recently cancelled indefinitely. Most private hospitals seem to be block booked by NHS for catch up for the foreseeable future.
Hi there @Lardlizard. Just moving this to the Coronavirus topic, as requested.
Definitely wait until next year. As PP have said, you might not get an appointment this year anyway & personally I would not be visiting any hospital for elective procedures until CV is under control. I had a tummy tuck a few years ago & it’s a pretty intense recovery period but was absolutely worth it for me. I had severe muscle separation which was causing low back pain as there was no stability in my core & no amount of physio could fix it. Post-op was the first time in 7 years that I didnt have low back pain & I could run again. Let me know if you have any questions! I’m not the font of all knowledge but it’s sometimes helpful to speak with someone who has experienced it 😊
Ok I’m going to get it into my head for 2021 then, I’ve been reading up on using a derma roller thing, I can’t see how that can help that much but I could try it in the mean time
Edina, would you mind if I pm’ed you a couple of pics ? How long did it take for you to recover ? Have you had a cs before ? Would you describe it as similar to that ?
I’m terms of pain n recovery
Seriously? I think you'd be mad to think about it this year, but I may just be a worrier!
@Lardlizard Of course 😊 It took me a good 6 weeks to recover. I was exhausted by doing even minor things such as pottering around the house despite being very fit before surgery. I organised child care for the first 2 weeks so that I could have as much rest as possible & then had a friend on standby for the following 2 weeks, which I did have to make use of on days where I was swollen and/or super tired. Also my DC were old enough to not need picking up/carrying etc & that’s something to consider. I haven’t had a CS but I’m told it’s similar.
Not sure about derma rolling. Depends how severe the loose skin is. Mine was beyond repair - like an unmade bed or an Austrian blind 😂
Wow I was thinking of having a tummy tuck this year as wfh but later in the year the hospital called me today but I missed it
I know it is a long recovery so wanted to do this year !!
Good to hear that it is worth it I have serious apron belly after 2 kids
