Why are the protestors not being arrested (England)?

the police would have to get extremely close to them to arrest them!!

much less than 2 metres.....which is then also breaking social distancing guidelines.....

Because arresting people could start a riot and most of the protests have been very civilised. I don’t agree with protests during a pandemic and do worry about it increasing the risk of spread, but I can’t fault most of the protesters.
