Cleaners

Is anyone having a cleaner come to their home again yet? I’ve been WFH and home schooling for the last 3 months and really want to get a cleaner in the week so that I don’t have to spend my weekends cleaning on top of everything else. I’ve booked a lady to have a look round on Monday who told me she will wear mask and gloves whilst I show her round and I’ll have to stay 2m away obviously. Im just a bit worried having someone else in my house after so long and wanted to know if others have had cleaners return?

Yes weve been having a weekly cleaner for the last week 3 weeks 👍🏻 We go out when she’s here.

Thank you. Do they use your products or bring their own? The lady today said she would bring her own but would use our vacuum. She is starting on Wednesday. It still feels weird having someone else in the house.

Haven’t stopped cleaning from day 1 . Can’t work from home so go to work

Exactly. Unless you were shielding, there was never any reason for cleaners not to work.

Are you going to wear a mask?

Mine has been back for several weeks now. It's pretty easy to observe social distancing. We go upstairs when she's downstairs and vice versa.

@Blue1316 she brings her own products but uses our hoover and mop. They wash their hands when they arrive and keep distance but otherwise just behave normally. I suppose it will be a little odd at first but personally I prioritise having a clean house and we just don’t have time with wfh & childcare !

Yes, we all hide in the study when she's here, she wears a mask and gloves. I really should clean the study...

My cleaner started back last week - hurrah!

I will add - I know that technically we didn’t need to stop having our cleaner but we both decided it was best to. I carried on paying her the full amount all the way through and she is now pregnant so I left it up to her as to when she started back again...

My cleaner came back 4 weeks ago. They use their own products and hoover (which is what they always did anyway).

Thanks everyone. She’s not wearing a mask when cleaning (really wouldn’t expect her to) but we will just keep our distance when she’s here. She’s coming tomorrow for the first time, will be nice to not have to get up and clean this weekend. Smile

Our cleaner came back last week; I was able to go back to working out of the house, and my husband is happy to stay in his study and then eat his lunch in the garden whilst she hoovers in there, so it's business as usual really. I left just as she arrived this morning and she wasn't wearing a mask, but then, she has the run of the house to herself except the one room with the door closed, so I don't see much point.

I'm SO HAPPY she's back!
