When do we think things will get back to normal in schools

When do we think after school clubs/nurseries/holiday clubs will get back to normal.... wondering if I'll need to hire help from 3pm on a couple of days when I do a job I can't do from home (retail)

September for all pupils. Anything else is unsustainable not proportional to the risks of not opening (for everyone) vs risks of catching coronavirus.

I really can't see how we can carry on like this beyond the end of term, but having just finished an (online) SLT meeting in a school, I know for a fact that schools are not planning to be back to normal in Sept in our SLT. We're still working on plans to have all children back in by Sept but on very part time timetables, supplemented by online learning.

Government will need to formally decree social distancing is over before we can deliver anything else.

SLT, on the whole, want to "just do it" but atm government, LA and staff/unions are saying no.

I work for a secondary school and the email we all got today stated that September will not be normal and blended learning (mix of in school and home learning) will almost certainly continue until at least Christmas. This is in Wales.

55 deaths is the same number of people who died the day we went into lockdown. It doesn;t mean it's over.

In the school I work in due to our room sizes and staffing numbers we could realistically open to all those who want to attend (about 60% based on our questionnaire) in the next couple of weeks.

I hope we are completely back to normal by September but the reality will probably be October half term.

That said if the virus keeps declining the way it is there is significant reason to be hopeful.

I'm hoping for September, even if that is just that they find a way to make a part time rota system work. DS would love to be back at school now but isn't able to as his school only have room for children whose parents both go out to work ( I don't). I'm really hoping a way will be found to get all children back to school, even if for just a day or two a week

Our school is planning part time school for all in September and home learning for the rest of the time.

It should be September but it won’t be.. but there’s a bit of hope with a possible changing to a 1m rule. That’ll help schools quite a lot at least. But even if the government declares social distancing over, the teachers union will probably disagree..

Even though all the advice atm has schools planning for blended learning well into the new term, I am fully expecting an announcement that rips up all our plans during the holidays before we go back.
I think there will be so much pressure on government to get schools back by then, that they'll find a reason it will be OK to go straight back to normal.

Just been told my year 10 will not be allowed back next week (North West). They are reviewing it weekly. I don't have much hope now before September, and even then, I'm dubious, although do think that Year should be back full time with other year groups as and when. With such disparity between schools I don't know this year group can possibly sit exams on a level playing field next year.
The irony is I tested positive for Covid antibodies today. There's a very strong chance my DC have already had it.

As a teacher, I think (and hope) that it will be September.

Fingers crossed, numbers of cases continue to fall as thry are at the moment and numbers of deaths continue to fall.

Apparently pubs/restaurants may be able to open outdoor areas earlier than planned so fingers crossed for schools.

2 schools closed where I live because they can't adhere to the SD rules to be honest more people are dying of everything else now than the virus

It's always lower on a Monday because of lag in reporting.

You need to wait until midweek to see what the numbers are then to get a better picture.

I don’t have any hope for September anymore. I think it will be part time at best. On another thread a poster said she had read every bit of Department of Education guidance and it was deliberately ambiguous but pointed towards distance learning for September still.

It is true that the DfE are clearly planning for distance learning in Sept, now, but right from the start their advice has changed frequently and often at the last minute.
