What will Keir Starmer ask do you think?

What would you like him to ask?

I would like him to ask about the chaos that seems to be test, track and trace, why the traffic light alert system seems to have been dropped, why the government ignored public health officials and scientists telling them it is too soon to relax the rules, why we have to have a dubious app, what they are going to do about the public losing trust and confidence in them (in general but especially after Dominic Cummings).

It doesn't matter what he asks Boris - or indeed what anyone asks a member of the Cabinet - their responses will bear little relation to the actual questions.

In particular there is no point in asking Boris (or any of them) about DC because the response will always be that DC has given a fulsome explanation of his actions and the British people want to move on. Padded out with lots of meaningless waffle of course.

I find listening to Boris and his cronies being questioned excruciatingly painful. Keir is very good - asks clear, fact laden questions - and then comes back at Boris to highlight the inadequacies of his response. That then prompts Boris to lie and make ridiculous commitments which can't be met.

In normal times it might be entertaining, but at the moment I find it horrifying that our lives are in the hands of such inept individuals.

I would love Boris to give answers to all the questions you ask . But he won't - however clearly Keir asks him.

Why is Boris Johnson able to get away with waffle, lies and insulting everyone's intelligence?

Yesterday's news from Parliament made me furious and is an insult to democracy. Too bad if your MP is vulnerable, pregnant or has caring responsibilities - they can't vote on your behalf. All so that Boris can have some pals to cheer him on in commons so he doesn't look as inadequate as he actually is.

As a life long conservative voter, I’ve never looked forward to pmq as much as this week.

Kier asks excellent questions, is clear, concise and hopefully will give Boris the grilling he needs.

I’m disgusted with the government over the last two weeks. DC is the straw that broke my camels back.

Isn’t the issue here that Rosie Duffield has not only resigned, but she has also not taken the public for fools, prompting the DVLA and opticians to advise people not to drive to test their eyesight, and really damaged a very important public health message?

Rosie Duffield has resigned, besides which she was not involved in drawing up the guidance. Is this what politics has become now? Just people on both sides just saying 'but what about...' no wonder democracy is being eroded, the elite has dumbed down the public very effectively.

I always give up watching it as questions are never answered properly. Just skirted around and waffle added in, i tire of it easily as basically full of untruths and lies and quite frankly it scares the crap out of me we are heading to be like the U. S like with their lunatic President. We basically have a clown in charge of the uk! At first i thought he was trying the best he can but the last month or so he seems intent on killing more of us of with herd immunity being spun as us choosing to send our kids back to school to soon or lockdown released to soon. I fear for our country!

The whole point is that Rosie Duffield has resigned (and was actually elected in the first place) and had no part in writing the rules.

Keir Starmer has set his own house in order and is therefore free to pick holes in Boris'.

Not that it will get any of us anywhere, Boris and his team do not see themselves as accountable in any way.

Surely at some point in the not too distant future Boris will be replaced as even the Tory machinery must see how rubbish he is?

I'd like Keir Starmer to get stuck in about testing and tracking, and to try for precise details as to how the government proposes to proceed.

And the outage that is scrapping the perfectly workable remote voting so as to force nationwide travel or disenfranchisement for MPs and thus their constituents.

Inevitably he'll just be met with shambling bluster but I'm hoping it will enable him to set out his own stall and inspire confidence so that there's hope of getting rid of this shower ASAP.

I hope he’ll nail him on why the government ignored its own covid alert level system and took us out of lockdown. Then there’s the woeful state of track and trace system shown on the leaked report last night. Or why he wouldn’t allow scientists to answer for themselves when we supposedly live in a country with free speech.

Those are my thoughts exactly. I try to laugh at his incompetence, but it is deeply worrying too. I find it astonishing that he tore Theresa May's career to shreds citing her poor leadership (it wasn't great though, let's be honest), but he is far, far worse. It strikes me as incredibly naïve and arrogant as he has clearly underestimated what the job entailed, as have his cabinet ministers who have had to step up when he was unwell and didn't make any decisions.

I truly believe that in a time of national crisis the management of said crisis should be a cross party effort, with all of the population being represented, not just one party and one ideology.
If they had come together as a parliament we would have had a much better outcome.

Mostly agree with this Orchid although I've been more of a floating voter in the last couple of decades.

If Keir Starmer doesn't try to crush BJ under his foot I will be very disappointed. I don't even need or expect him to succeed, but I do want to see BJ shown as the waffly, privileged , bloated wind bag that he is.

I hate him almost as much as I do Trump, but he matters more because he is our government's leader. This matters.
