U.K. breaks - will they/should they happen in July

What are people thinking around lifting restrictions on over night stays?

We have an air bnb booking for what would have been first week of summer holidays (18th July) which haven’t cancelled yet

I’m happy to get away if allowed, to stay in apartment with local walks, trips to parks, beach with restrictions in place

but then question whether it’s right to go even if we can And think should just cancel now
Conflicted and interested in what the MN view is
Thanks

Maybe in England. I wouldn't expect them to be lifted in Scotland for some time yet.

I'm hoping overnight stays will be open by the end of July. Seems reasonable for self catering accommodation at the very least?

if so, i hope they'll be able to relax public transport issues too. many people rely on it to go away, take breaks, etc.

as someone who lives in a lakes hotspot, i really look forward to things getting back to normal, my only fear is crowded queues at tiny local tesco.
if queuing was relaxed by late july that would be fab.
the queuing thing really gets my goat, even though i know it's unavoidable and sensible .

did i mention queuing 😁???

If hospitality is reopening by July, I'd imagine overnight stays would be included in that. If not hotels then certainly self-catering.

Looked at a couple of hotel websites rather than self catering, and one that offers some outside rooms is planning to open these on a self-catered footing only (not its normal operation), after 4th July (Yorkshire) with an explanation that this is on advice at present. From that date, they're bookable now. So it looks as if there is a provisional expectation for then as the earliest likely date.

Hotels are currently advised they will be able to open 4 July, provided social distance can be maintained. Email them. They'll be happy to advise on their individual situation.

It’s an apartment in Devon we have stayed in before very familiar with area so feel confident in being able to be sensible while there
Bit worried the locals wouldn’t be friendly but then on other hand their economy is dependent on tourism and I’m sure some will be happy with a return to some normality

Cancelled ours 31 July. We could only drive there and go for walks which we could do at home so no point

We have a caravan on site. Spoke to them yesterday and they’re planning to open July 1st. If you can’t stay out overnight I can’t see the point of them opening 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes I think July will be fine for holidays. Depending on what you like to do on holiday of course.

I hope so or we won’t be able to visit any family (all over 400 miles away)

I think they should. If the accommodation is self contained and social distancing measures are adhered to whilst out an about.

Pubs and restaurants might not be fully open but you should be able to get takeaways and make full use of our beautiful outdoors. I’m in Norfolk and the beaches have been quiet. It’s very easy to safely keep your distance.
