Sorry if this has been done before.

Do you think that shielding in Wales will be extended after the 12weeks?? So as it currently stands as far as I know shielding ends in wales on the 15/16th June??
Will it be extended?
What happens when it finishes is it then safe to go for a daily walk etc?
Does anyone actually know??

Even if they don’t officially extend it no shielding, extremely vulnerable person, is suddenly going to be low risk so it’s not going to be safe.
I have a shielded person at home, it’s not easy, but I still wouldn’t want them going out any time soon.

Waiting with baited breath for news on this. It would be nice to have some guidance.

I had been told that they are expected to make an announcement on next steps early to give plenty of notice, but I'm not sure of the source of that and whether it's just hearsay.

England has extended it, and Wales is being more cautious, so I cant see that they would end it in Wales.

Where does it say on the government website that England has extended it, @TabbyMumz? The website says it’s likely that it will be extended.

Sure it was reported on the news last night. Boris may have even said it?

No, nothing formally.

I know lots of people on here have said they have had letters extending it past end of June, but that could be because their initial letter was late.

It was extended to the 30th June, but no further extensions yet

It was interesting to read that as of Monday Shielders in England will be allowed outside.
I don’t think this will change anything in Wales.

I think that is very poor advice - much as I'd love everything to magically return to normal - and I'd love to see the reasoning for it. Given we don't know the result of the eased lockdown for English non-shielded yet.

I hope this won’t change in Wales. I would like to think that we can continue to protect our shielded, my young daughter being one of them.

So what do we think about the fact that people who are shielding in Wales can now go out tomorrow (Monday) for exercise and can see 1 household.

Personally I think it’s crazy and in the governments own lock down ease plan they put the vulnerable and shielding in the green category so only when it’s safe to do so: and now they are saying just go out it seems a joke

I feel disappointed for all the shielded in Wales.

I will not be risking our daughters life, we will be staying home as we have done.

I totally agree with you. My eldest daughter is in the shielding category we will be staying home to keep her safe

My thought of it being poor advice for England remains the same when it's extended to wales. Ffs what are they playing at?!

I'm not going anywhere, especially while everyone is out in the streets partying like it's 1999.
