I do hope it's true, my other half gets stressed about it for the whole day! We're new to the street so he thinks we should go out, or we will be known as the non clappers!. I'm not a fan either, it was okay the first time but just ridiculous now!

Oh thank God for that! I'm fed up for being considered a social pariah for not making a doorstep appearance at 8pm every Thursday to clap.

Yep, I'm clapped out too.

Nobody down our road has ever done it, maybe if we had an NHS worker living down here we would have done but honestly making a noisy row to thin air at the time we are all putting kids to bed didn't catch on.

Yes I think it’s time to stop.

Oh I bloody hope so. Absolutely hate it. And I'm an NHS clinician!

Hope so!

We’ve never bothered, even though people go nuts for it round us (new build estate). Nearly everyone I know around here is NHS staff including us.

It makes our life harder (DH frontline doc seeing covid patients, me on mat leave) as it’s too hot to shut the windows fully and our five month old is a terrible sleeper atm. It just wakes him up and leads to less sleep for everyone.

DH doesn’t see the need, he’s doing his job, he’s not a hero. He knows people are appreciative. I’d feel the same if i was back at work.

I saw something on channel 4 news yesterday. The woman who started it says 10 weeks is enough and to just do it once a year after tonight.

I wasn’t going to clap this evening.

But I’ve just heard some news concerning a RL matter, that means I shall be there for one last time and lifting a glass afterwards

And that will round it off
