considering we are meant to be distancing?
who are you meant to be spending more than 15 minutes with at less than 2 metres?
and if you do happen do to that, and develop symptoms, are you likely to tell a tracer who you spent this time with, knowlingly? and if you were for example on public transport, you dont know the people

Examples of people you might identify:

  • Your entire household.
  • The students in your primary school classroom / the toddlers who attend your nursery.
  • Your fellow staff at a supermarket (who are rarely 2m apart from what I see)
  • The people and households you have been socialising with, like half the people on my street. Just because you shouldn’t be doing it, doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

Yes, the ideal is that tracers should be skilled communicators, with high social intelligence, able to navigate a conversation with you in a sensitive way, and stress the importance of identifying your contacts. They shouldn’t be customer services bots. So of course having this headed by Talk Talk is a great start.

The most important thing in this whole process (if you don’t have a huge dose of coercion) is TRUST. Trust in the process is absolutely fundamental to compliance. And we know how the public feel about that at the moment.
