Covid

It’s a trust issue

How does the government not realise that?

They have shown us through their ongoing mismanaging of the very clear rule breaking by Dominic Cummings that they don’t give a shit about the public. That they will manipulate and bluster and twist things to try to suit themselves (and sometimes just lie). That there is some unknown reason that one rule breaking man keeping his job is more important than a lifesaving public health message? So many people are utterly disgusted and sickened by what has unfolded.

So why then do they expect us to trust them to do the right thing by our children?

Why do they expect us to trust them with our data via their app (made by DC’s pals)?

And why on earth do they expect us to stay at home for up to 14 days because we may or may not have Covid when they’ve so publicly supported one of their own NOT staying at home with actual Covid?

How do they not get that all these things are linked?

Because they are feckin arrogant entitled tories who think we are beneath them. And they really don't care about our opinions.

It's not rocket science.

They do get it - they just don't care.

He doesn’t care. They’re not interested in Joe Public. They care about their own self interests. There’s a lot of corruption in the government. Especially this one.

But surely they must care a bit, at least about making us do what they want us to?

Boris today saying:

  1. People want to move on. I really don’t think they do want this swept under the rug. I’ve never seen a row dominate for so many days.

  2. People were angry based on misinformation. I don’t think so. Based on just what he’s admitted to I think people are furious. And not even about the action so much but about the reaction. And being told not only was this not a bad thing to do, it was a good thing to do.

They've already hinted at what's coming if we don't do what they want. No lifting lockdown restrictions, mandatory app and fines if you don't isolate when you're told to. Come to think of, that all sounds like a Tory definition of 'caring'.

The continued statements today about moving on shows how little they think of the public. As if we can just suddenly be persuaded to forget this incident.

Here here.

Just written to MP - might fall on deaf ears as he is a loyal upstanding member but felt I had to say something.

Hope he gets lots of emails.

They do not care.

Lets hope people remember this next time they are in a polling booth, pencil poised!

Well most of us here in Scotland were never taken in by the tories so don't worry about us being tempted to vote for them.

They need to explain difference between civic duty and government instruction. And how each interacts with parental instinct

Also big clear reminders that scammers are out there, and would love to harvest personal information. Never divulge this to someone who calls up and asks. Always, always verify by calling back to officially published number

Finally, reiterate how names/phone numbers/addresses will be stored/shared and when it will all be deleted

Track and Trace is absolutely, fundamentally dependent on trust. This is why there is a real risk of the whole initiative collapse if the requisite public compliance is not there.

And you only have to look at these boards to see that the public have lost trust for track and trace.
