If Boris is really struggling so much with the after effects of being so ill and a new baby that he needs to be invisible during a major crisis, don't we need to be told that and told what the plan is to run the country without him?

Surely he has to appear today?

It’s unbelievable. More unbelievable than if you’d told me we’d be in the grips of pandemic this time last year.

Where the hell is he?! He’s the bloody PM. At the very least I’d expect him to appear once a week at these daily briefings. He should be at the forefront of all this, reassuring the nation, acknowledging concerns etc etc.

Yes he’s had a baby but put out an announcement saying he was deferring his paternity leave. And I highly doubt he’s up doing the bloody night shift. If there is something worrying with baby etc, I know he was born early, just say so and we’ll fully understand he needs to be with his partner.

And again, if he’s still recovering & finding life tough going getting over the virus, just say so & explain why the rest of the cabinet are having to do his job!

He’s out of the office until tbc.... it’s seriously weird already that he has random ministers doing the hard work. He should be front and centre every time, he should be at every public briefing and at journo questions. Could bring a minister for support if he wants. But seriously... he chose yes-men in his government to look some great Churchillian leader... where’s the leadership? The communication is lacking, the integrity, the responsibility, the commitment...

One of the biggest issues throughout this crisis has been a lack of transparency and information. Here's another example of this. He's got a new baby. He's been in ITU. But if he's not able to fulfil the role that he's required to do that because of those reasons then the government need to let us know.
