Is there any dentistry that isn't the emergency hubs?

I've had mild toothache for about a week now, worse after eating, and I feel it's got a bit worse today too. I assumed my dentist was closed, and I surely wouldn't qualify for emergency care to be seen at a hub. A nearby private dentist appeared to be open the other day when I went passed (door to entrance was open) - but could have been worker checking on building or anything, I can't be sure. Just wondering if anyone is aware of any dentistry operating outside of the emergency hubs or are they point blank not allowed to? I'm much more anxious about my toothache due to the lack of dentistry provision than the actual toothache iyswim, I'm starting to catastrophise.

They shouldn't be working at all but should be available for phone consultation, maybe put your mind at rest.

We are closed. It's a government /chief dental officer order. No dental practices are working. Still to risky due to potential spread of virus by aerosol. But we are in. Every day we are answering the phone, giving advice, issuing prescriptions and temporary filling packs. We are also making adjustments to our practice such as adding Perspex screens etc in order to prepare for opening up again. But we are a bit off still. The emergency hubs are starting to expand, and more treatments will be included in the hubs only.
However- there are a lot of private practices in the country taking legal advice, and arguing that the chief dental officer doesn't have jurisdiction over the private services. Some of these practices may attempt to open early. But that might end up causing some serious bun fights within the profession. Another story!
So we are closed, but some practices might start to open ( slightly worrying). Look out on social media sights for dental practices as that's were most folk are posting their most up to date info

My dental practice does have a website but it doesn't look like they update it that often. It doesn't say anything about being closed and just has one link to NHS coronavirus symptom page hah. I will call them on Tuesday though if I still have pain

V interesting about the legal position, I'd never even thought of that before (I work in law, although an unrelated area).

I'm in the Midlands and there is zero dental assistance even for emergencies.

I broke a tooth badly two weeks ago, 111 were worse than useless and gave me the number of two practices that are closed indefinitely and said unless I was bleeding profusely I couldn't be seen anyway.

Another practice gave me the number of an emergency NHS clinic that closed down in March (not due to Covid).

A friend is in agony with repeated infection of a wisdom tooth that needs removing and nobody will help her other than give antibiotics that don't help.

It's dreadful. Dentistry and the nation's oral health was in a mess before this but god knows what it will be like afterwards.

I'd be so wary about private dentists working so soon. It's against government guidelines. What if something went wrong? I doubt their insurance/indemnity would cover them just now.
What is this like? It's all very Victorian. Or war-like...
