It's half term next week - who thinks the govt will say you can travel to campsites/holiday cottages/second homes?

After seeing that people are actually SHITTING on beaches because councils haven't opened toilets shock

Who thinks the government will say people can travel next week - and that councils need to open toilets?

I don't think so

pfrench Wed 20-May-20 17:34:49

Nope. Instead they'll close beaches to stop shitting.

I'd bloody love the second home rule to be lifted, I want to go to Cornwall.

Finfintytint Wed 20-May-20 17:35:41

No, not yet. If councils can’t keep their cleaning staff safe yet , then they won’t be opening. No joined up thinking going on with Boris et al.

Drivingdownthe101 Wed 20-May-20 17:36:08

Don’t think so to be honest. The next review isn’t due until the end of half term anyway. Can’t see them changing anything before that.

No chance.

Definitely not!

angry ... shitting on beaches.

I hope everyone is made to stay at home.

pfrench Wed 20-May-20 17:38:00

To be fair, shitting on the beach is using common sense.. if the alternative is shitting in your car.

crustycrab Wed 20-May-20 17:38:05

Lol, why would they move the next review date because of a half term that doesn't exist anymore?

OneNewName Wed 20-May-20 17:40:09

To be fair, shitting on the beach is using common sense.. if the alternative is shitting in your car.

Oh come on, it's not beyond the foresight of most people to consider taking a bag or something with them, or at least picking the stuff up.

CuriousaboutSamphire Wed 20-May-20 17:43:32

No. July is the tentative date for tourism. Very tentative

CuriousaboutSamphire Wed 20-May-20 17:45:11

As for shitting. That's just disgusting. Everyone has an item of clothing, like socks, that can be sacrificed for bagging and binning an unexpected poo!

stoptherideiwanttogetoff Wed 20-May-20 17:48:58

Shitting behind beach huts .. which we've paid for in advance but been told we can't use.. honestly today the beaches here are jam packed

frasersmummy Wed 20-May-20 17:50:19

Even if they did would be England only.. Scotland Wales and I Think Ireland (apologies if I'm wrong re Ireland), are still on complete lockdown

Figgygal Wed 20-May-20 17:51:42

Not a chance

RainMustFall Wed 20-May-20 20:15:53

No chance.

We had a cottage in St Ives booked, obviously we've cancelled, I'm gutted, but no way should people be going on holiday yet. sad

1forsorrow Wed 20-May-20 20:23:05

Nope. Instead they'll close beaches to stop shitting. No shitting on beaches here because they've opened the toilets.

TimothyTerrible Wed 20-May-20 20:24:06

Zero chance

CassandraKnew Wed 20-May-20 20:27:45

Is there a market for standing on the beach selling doggie pooh bags for people to use?
