Has anyone's child been tested at a test centre?

DC (aged 10) has a high fever. I am a key worker so my employer suggested getting her tested. 111 said she should be eligible.

I've gone on to book online, but it only asked for my details, there wasn't an option to say it was a family member. Do I just book it under my name?

Also, how did they find the procedure. She doesn't even like me cutting her toenails so I'm not sure a swab down the throat is going to go down well.

Hi, I took a test Friday morning (got negative result by text this morning). Yes if you book for you then during the booking process it asks if there are other people in your household that you would like to take along. I went by myself.

They text you a code you need to book your test (or did with me) and it's during this booking with the code that you give further details and include others.

At the centre I went to you take the sample yourself by basically trying to rub a cotton bud on your tonsils (not tongue) and then (the same one) up your nose so not pleasant but if you are taking it yourself you are in control at least.

Thank you. I booked for myself and added her. I can't see that getting her to rub her own tonsils is going to work. Bet they get me to do it!
