That's going well! The lockdown protest in Hyde Park

How very disappointing for the organisers Grin. Around 40 people attended.

They were hoping for thousands, this seems to suggest that people are accepting of the need for lockdown and therefore prepared to live with the restrictions.

I like the headline to the article. I'm not sure 'descends' is the right word for just 40 people, it implies 'into the hundreds' somehow!

Only one arrest??

Apparently it's organised by a prominent Britain First member. Shambles.

Assume the posters are all the same for each area but the one for Brighton had about protesting against a mandatory vaccine...there isnt even a vaccine yet!

Blimey. We could probably do better on here. But in a properly organised and naice way.

I therefore propose a rally to protest against deluded people holding rallies to protest about social distancing which is a sensible and reasonable way of restricting the spread of a very real and dangerous virus.

Anyone got a whistle?

I can bring Cake and Wine and Brew.

Maybe instead of joining the protest everyone's just gone out for the day.

David Samson, 50, who said he works in finance, told the PA news agency he came because “I never thought I’d see in my generation the suppressing of civil rights” over a “fake virus”.

He's in finance?? I wouldn't trust him with my spare change jar.

We just cycled past this. One man called out to a ?Japanese man walking by with a mask on: ‘It’s all a scam mate - you don’t need that’.

Japanese man didn’t break his stride Grin

The one arrest was Jeremy corbyns brother who shouted that 5g and corona was linked.

The whole thing did seem very ambitious...spread it all out in different towns. Probably spent more time on the posters. It's all a bit bizzare!

NotAnotherUserNumber · 16/05/2020 14:34

Didn’t realise Piers Corbyn is insane! Imagine if Jeremy was PM and his brother was spreading this 5G fake virus rubbish. It would be a huge international embarrassment.

A local park has been locked to try to stop it, but I would presume numbers were very low, mainly because it takes people effort

FourDecades · 16/05/2020 14:47

Why do these protesters think that the virus is a scam.... how can they explain the people dying?

Report
Jenasaurus · 16/05/2020 14:50

I saw another video with a mixture of protestors and another man was arrested but there seem to be more police and journalists than protestors

scarily Piers Corbyn is the one with the science degree...

but it is a nice day down south. who wants to be in London in weather like this when people are allowed to burn as much fuel as they like driving as far as they like?

ImBritishNotEnglish · 16/05/2020 15:10

Let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to go to Hyde park in this weather, wave a few flags?

@NotAnotherUserNumber Yes its well known that if you have a sibling you can definately control what they do.

@HelenaDove of course you can’t, but do you really think that certain parts of the press wouldn’t be making an embarrassing fuss if that had happened?

StoorieHoose · 16/05/2020 15:45

@bookmum08 that's the good stuff! Maybe it has to be the original recipe to treat the virus!
