Anyone read this? Quite a depressing read. Implies we will be socially distancing for years!!! I dont think I can cope with that.

So, for workplaces does it now mean that as we are no longer in ‘lockdown’ and in the red that we can go back to the office or should we still be working from home if we can?

Surely it must be a mistake that even under “green” conditions you can only see family and friends while practicing social distancing?! Hardly seems a viable option that no one goes within 2m of family and friends indefinitely.

It's stupid, ridiculous and I'm going to stop complying with it. I am okay with complying with Draconian restrictions within a sensible time frame. We've lost sight of trying to protect the NHS - I don't even know what the goal is any more.

@FatRascalsAndJam Exactly! Its really bloody depressing when we see countries like the Czech Republic and New Zealand going back to normal

I guess we can just wait for a Minister to be photographed hugging their parents and then they'll change the guidance, right?

Actually at the point now where I'd vote to abolish the Assembly. And I voted to give it more powers back in the day. Must have been young and foolish.

I thought it was very clear and thoughtfully done.
They are doing their best to protect us.
If people want to hug their loved ones they will anyway.
What would you have decided is right instead?

Have to say I’m not looking forward to the Scottish plan based on seeing the Welsh one . I imagine they will be broadly similar .

I would expect them to get right on top of contact tracing and test the whole bloody population so we can go back to our way of life. Something like what the Czech republic and New Zealand have experienced. Why should we have to live like this for bloody years because the bloody government cant get its act together! And why are the borders still open??????

I wouldn't expect them to tell the entire population that they can't hug their friends and family for potentially years!! It's all very well to say, "they will anyway," no government should make cruel and unenforceable laws.

What do I want? Sweden-style. Their hospitals have not, despite predictions, been overrun, and they'll be able to get back to normal life without the vast mental and physical health problems and economic collapse caused by lockdown.

Interesting to see Drakeford has changed his mind again.....seeing family and other people....still in the red category, so we can only currently see people within our household, yet on Monday he said we could meet one other person at a 2 metre distance and that he thought wed been able to do that from the start?

There’s nothing about going to a family member’s house?

Report
thewheelsonthebus23 · 15/05/2020 16:14

Nothing about children’s play areas opening either

I think m, but am not sure, that in law we can meet one other person at a distance, and have always been able to. The guidance has been against it though. Which I personally have decided I don't care about any more - my only concern is going to be whether I can/will be fined. They've lost my goodwill by coming up with such a farcical plan.

I really hope England’s road map isn’t like this.
I can’t believe there’s no mention of going to a family or friebd’s Household? What about the house linking they did in NZ?

Well I’m in Wales and currently have workmen in the house (separate from the main part of the house by closing internal doors). They contacted me to ask if we were happy for them to start our extension internal walls / plastering / electrics. They are starting to get desperate for work.

I was happy as they can stay separate from us and they have access to a separate toilet. All builder merchants and stockists started opening yesterday onwards.

The welsh rules are all very well but many aren’t complying. We need to get back to some sort of normality.
