New thread,

I won't be a very good host as I tend to dip in and out of these things but have filled up the last thread. (Sorry)

Day 68- fed up, my DS 15 is sick again and has developed a rash, sore head and extra thirsty, (also has a leg shake he can't control and tremor in his hands) so I am currently worried about him (noted
On last thread), Dh is still in the 50/53 day dip as it's taking a while for him to get over he keeps over doing things as do I .

I have a spotty itchy head and itchy skin, cold feet again, my lips feel like they Are on fire as do my cheeks both are fine. feeing sob but actually sats are ok.

My Dd is well and I truly truly hope she stays that way.

I am so so so so so fed up!

Sounds really scary. My whole family have had it too and we are all struggling to get rid. I've spent the night worrying that mine will get worse again as I have. I was wondering if we were somehow all reinfecting each other. Not sure if that's possible but who knows. Keep talking to us - I know the fear and looming madness that comes with ill children

Day 55/56.

Still fatigued, chest pain, dizziness (yesterday for first time), high heart rate, bit of a cough, peeling blister-type patches on fingers but (and I don’t want to jinx things) the last few days I have been feeling slightly better. Managed a gentle yoga class yesterday and walked 2.5 miles this day before. Also managing to work for up to 2 hours at a time (on good days).

I’m waiting for an urgent echocardiogram and 24-hour ECG to come through but I’m not going to hold my breath.

Flowers to everyone suffering.

@countingsheeps wanted to tag you in here so you can update us when you’re up to it on how your hospital stay is going. Thinking of you.

@Egghead68 glad you’re feeling ok after the yoga..I was previously too scared to try but if you’re feeling ok the day after doing it, that’s a good sign! My dizziness was worse 2 weeks ago, then a bit better last week and a bit better again this week so hang in there - it may be a passing thing. Keep fluids up!

Thank you for the new thread @pinkoneblueone sorry about your ds.

My ds(5) is ill too, got better after 2 weeks, but 2 weeks later is now coughing and complaining of a sore throat and earache again. he's had one lot of antibiotics already... I suspect this is just viral again. Sad

So glad to hear you're well @TheWooisStrong any advice to speed us lot up? Although it's not 2 calendar months for me until the 22nd or 28th May... fingers crossed!

@Countingsheeps GPs can be so dismissive... I don't get it. Anything to do with Covid and they just shut down and say post viral. ConfusedPlease keep us posted on how you're doing. Thanks

Well I've had an interesting night! I came on my period yesterday so was wondering if something would happen. Went to bed at 9am as exhausted, woke up at 10pm violently shaking and with the most weirdest shivers going through my body. Like somebody waking over my grave x100 over and over again. Went on for an hour and I felt hot but thermometer was saying 36.7. It was so painful and I contemplated calling an ambulance as my HR was 125! Ended up sobbing in my poor DH's arms again. But all of a sudden, it just stopped. But I felt completely drained from it and have woken up this morning in so much pain and totally fatigued. What the fuck was that?? I'm obviously in a dip. My highs are pretty low anyway though. Longing for a good day.

@Egghead68 I'd like to have that as my HR shoots up if I just walk up the stairs but my GP won't refer me as my tests all came back clear, but I'm not walking up the stairs when I'm having my ECG...

I'm so sorry for you all still feeling terrible. I am 2 Calendar months yesterday and suddenly feeling almost normal. You will get there. I had my worst dip just before feeling better. I kept trying yoga, long walks etc and I just kept relapsing. So last few weeks I have really done nothing except normal life and gentle walks. 2000iu vit D and Nurofen.

@SimpleKindofLife I started taking Quercetin, and crammed myself full of healthy food and water. Other than that time. I hope by the end of the month you are on the mend.

How scary for you both. Am glad though that you are both getting what sounds like cautious and attentive medical advice/monitoring. Thinking of you both, and DS *@pinkoneblueone**

Sorry that I am only dipping in. I would really like to be able to keep up with what's happening for everyone but it is hard to do so with a lively 7 month old who will only nap on me...

8 weeks or 10 weeks depending on when I count from.

Been a bit up and down the past few days. No SOB but have been quite weak/fatigued so haven’t attempted to do much to test myself. For the past few days, have had a burning sensation in head and felt faint when done ‘too much’ (not actually very much - just climbing stairs then standing a couple of minutes to change DD’s nappy). DH carries our hefty 7 month old up and down stairs as it is too much for me right now.

Tried phoning GP yesterday as the burning in my head worried me but they haven’t returned my call. They seem to have me pegged as having anxiety so I wonder if they are just ignoring me now. I live in an area with one of the lowest rates of the virus in the country. Obviously, that is a very good thing for everyone lives or works here, but I wonder if my GPs are seeing few cases of people with longrunning symptoms.

Felt a lot better yesterday evening and managed a normal lighthearted chat with DH but lung pains returned this morning. Fatigue seems to descend now they are easing off a bit.

It feels like whack-a-mole. No sooner do one or two symptoms ease off than another starts up again.

Had stabbing abdominal pains for a few days with bloating, especially in evening. Then upset tummy (sorry, TMI) in mornings. But those symptoms seem to have mainly eased off.

 to everyone here

We will get through this

Thanks @Kitcat122 glad to hear you're feeling better! I love hearing positive stories, it keeps me going. Feeling pretty hopeless atm.

The Slack #victories thread is good too but I get upset when I read about the excellent medical care and treatment people are getting in America - there's a huge divide.

@Valsemove have you had any blood tests? Ask your GP for those. Although my GP doesn't get it really, so I had to go to A&E for bloods in the end.

Valsemove · 15/05/2020 09:14

@SimpleKindofLife

I had blood tests at the hospital nearly two months ago. They didn't test for Covid-19 though as I wasnt admitted. I'm a bit scared to go back in case I'm now post-viral and end up being re-exposed. But I will think about what you've said.

GP seems reluctant to refer me for anything. On my second visit to GP, two weeks ago, GP said she though I was just a bit rundown and that maybe having a baby had made me more aware of my mortality. I hadn't even mentioned dying Confused

Valsemove · 15/05/2020 09:16

@SimpleKindofLife Yes I will try to ask GP for blood tests rather than go to A&E. Sorry to hear your GP hasn't been much help.

@Valsemove it's so frustrating isn't it... I do wonder if they say the same to men.

As more cases come through, I think they're realise. But we're the first ones so it's a learning curve. The reassuring thing is that most of us in here who have tests (me included, 2x bloods, 2x ECG, CT scan) have got the all clear. So it does point to post viral. Feels like a cop out though. I could just about cope with just pain and fatigue, I guess, but it's all the other scary random symptoms that worry me.

@simplekindoflife I had a similar thing when I came on my period last week, it was bizarre. Heart rate went up to 130, I was burning hot but normal temp and I had shivers and bad tremors. I went to a & e as I was terrified. Got checked out ecg, bloods and examination and all normal. I'm scared for my next period in case it happens again but at least I know it passes. Hope you are ok now.
Hi and hand holds and Thanksto everyone who is still feeling poorly. Day 56 ish here and I'm feeling sort of ok for the last few days (getting some better nights sleep has helped) but am only doing minimum house jobs, making meals, some lung exercises and mediations and a little bit of Pilates to stretch out chest and back. Apart from that I'm resting lots and taking vitamins, electrolytes and various probiotics and trying to eat healthily - lots of food to fight inflammation. I'm aware that a dip is always round the corner so taking things very cautiously. Keep going all of us and we'll get there x

Hope it's ok to post? I posted on one of the earlier threads, two people were so lovely, helpful and reassuring on one of the scariest nights of my life.
It's a month since I got ill and I know I'm getting there, I'm not confined to bed for one thing. But the fatigue and lung pain! I tried a short walk and 200 feet in was fit to drop and was in a lot of pain. Then it wiped me for days.
This thread is reassuring to know I'm not alone. The gp says it's all normal but have genuinely never been so ill in my life.

Report
Valsemove · 15/05/2020 09:32

@SimpleKindofLife

Yes it is frustrating. Even when I'd been struggling to breathe and had a raised temperature and fast heart rate, the first HCP I saw suggested I might have postnatal depression (though to be fair, suspected pericarditis was why they took me to hospital for tests). I felt fine in myself until I became ill.

I can see how the 3 hour episode of heart palpitations that I had a few days before my GP appointment could have been attributed to anxiety, but can't see how random throbbing pains in my lungs and the chest soreness that made it hard to even sit back in a car seat could be. Hmm On a more positive note, I'm definitely experiencing less pain and soreness now, so that must be a good thing. Also the episodes of palpitations have eased off.

but have genuinely never been so ill in my life

@wallyrag I was saying the same thing to my DH last night, I've never had anything like this, ever. This is something else completely. I bounce back from things so quickly, I rarely get colds or anything but I don't feel like I'm winning with this sometimes.

But I guess I'm still here and my tests are coming back all clear so I am, it just doesn't feel that way sometimes. It's hard to keep positive when it's been so long, we're so tired and rundown and it's all so unknown.

Good morning
I was on the first lung thread and have been looking on now from afar. Just to let you know Day 61 and I am on the mend. Working from home, managing to do my half a day in school and staff meeting via zoom plus the housework. My advice is rest, rest and more rest, with a little exercise even just a walk up the garden. Get some sunshine if you can and fresh air. At my worst in bed I opened the window and tired to sit or lie where the sun reached. Sometimes I just sit in the sun in the garden. Drink loads of water, eat well and I take supplements of Vit D and C. Most of all accept that this is a long road, think of years ago those pictures of rest homes people used to go to after an illness or operation. I over did it on Wednesday and yesterday felt breathless and tired. I structured my day so I did my computer work at home and just the most basic stuff around the house. Most of all listen to your body and take heart.
Phone the doctor if you need to, get antidepressant if your mood is low I did and there is no shame in admitting you need a bit of help and it really was the best thing I did. The doctor told me having this virus is a shock to the mind and body, its new, its frightening and really we have just been left to get on with at home with little or no guidance, support or help. That's a lot to cope with. keep off the media it makes the anxiety that you naturally feel worse. When I was really ill I took one hour then two hours at a time until a day had gone. Don't think too far ahead that really helped me.
I hope every one has a better day and it will get better. These threads were a lifeline for me. Remember its baby steps and I am still taking those I just had to learn to accept that and you will move forward slowly even through the dips.

@wallyrag sorry you have had to join us. Don't try to walk much. I kept making that mistake. I would feel a little better and go for a walk with my family. We live in a really hilly area so impossible to avoid. I would get to walking back up hill home and bam burning chest tight breathlessness in lungs and it would put me back days. I am feeling almost normal now but I am going to still hold off any exertion for even another week or two. It's very hard as I am normally very active and exercise regularly. But I have learnt the hard way. I'm just enjoying feeling good and will worry about fitness later.
