A few days ago I received an invitation to join a study looking for prevalence of antibodies in the population. I will have to provide a blood sample once a month for 6 months, but I will not be told my personal results.
The same day I received an email from a private testing company I have used before saying that they now have antibody tests available - it’s the Abbott one which has the CE mark. The temptation was too great, so I have ordered one. Today I hear that one from Roche has been approved for use in the U.K.
I would have told you I haven’t had it, but back in late January DH and I both had a nasty cough after we’d sat in a concert next to someone who was coughing continuously. We thought it was a cold, but not a typical one because we didn’t have runny nose or sneezing, just a bit bunged up after we’d had the cough for a while. When Covid started to get more publicity, we assumed it wasn’t that, because it was “too soon”. But now it appears likely that Covid was in the country much earlier. So maybe we have?
Anyway - has anyone had an antibody test? Where and how? What was your result? Do you trust it? What are you doing differently because of it?
