Hi @Annie20061 Thanks for starting new Thread and no I don't think another has been set up any how hows all? Hope your all doing well. For me it just seems to be lingering niggles throat lump ect.

Annie20061 Tue 12-May-20 11:33:04

@RickyBooth think I’m getting better gradually- week 5 for me. Seem to have 2 good days at the moment where i feel nearly normal just rib pains & a little bit if sob. Then last night up alot of the night with breathlessness again. I find it very depressing.

@RickyBooth sounds as though you are getting better gradually as well

@Annie20061 yep seems that way but I take nothing for granted. But fantastic that you seem to be getting better also. and im the same fed up and dragging me down.

Cusano34 Tue 12-May-20 13:01:43

@annie20061 @rickybooth

same here...have had 4/5 days feeling fine but feeling a bit breathy today. might be anxiety though as all the news on the future of the country is getting so heavy and the realisation this a long term situation. I was one of the silly ones who thought it would be a few months then back to normal sad

glad you're both feeling a little better too xx

Theforest Tue 12-May-20 16:35:16

@Annie20061 @RickyBooth @Cusano34

Hi guys. Thanks for opening this thread Annie.

Lets hope we are nearing the end of this. I had a good few days but yesterday lots of pressure on chest and sore throat again, although SOB hasn't really been back as yet. I drank the first can of fizzy drink today in over a month today. shock Did anyone else just need lots of water? I have drank so much water since this started. I haven't really liked water before now, but it is starting to feel a bit bland - maybe thats a good sign!!

Does anyone else get slight muscle spasms with this, like then you get when sometimes falling to sleep? I have a few when having bouts of SOB which I find unsettling. Ok for the moment though...

RickyBooth Tue 12-May-20 17:18:04

@Theforest Yes iv had spasms as well thought it was just me and as for the water about a week ago I was drinking loads think it must be body trying to rehydrate

Annie20061 Tue 12-May-20 18:23:23

@Theforest the sob was bad again last night & kept me awake for a few hours. No spasms for me but awful rib soreness. Yes and drinking loads of water & herbal teas. Hope a good is in store for all of us tonight.

@RickyBooth I wonder how many other people have had this without realising it might be a symptom. I have added it to the COVID19 symptom tracker app.

@Annie20061 yes hope you have a better night tonight. The night takes so long when awake with this.

RickyBooth Tue 12-May-20 20:36:12

@Cusano34 yes its quite scary the prospect of how long this is going to take before there is any form of normality if there ever is again.

@Annie20061 For sure the nights are long iv tried to just get up and try to stop thinking about breathing when its bad lucky I don't have that many nights now that are bad. Fingers crossed it stays that way but on the bright side it does get better but takes time and some days its like when is this gonna end but every time it bites its a little less than before. So I hope you get a good sleep im keeping my fingers crossed.

@Theforest Yes for sure it seems like this Virus has so many now but we all seem to be getting the same just in varied amounts

Annie20061 Wed 13-May-20 09:16:32

Morning everyone, i had a good night & slept which is good. Still have the menthol feeling down my windpipe & sore throat no sob at the moment.

Just waiting to hear back from my boss what date they want us to go back to work (I’m a lettings manager) - two things bother me 1) am i still contagious? 2) not sure i could do a full day without setting me back further? I’m tired as it is. Feeling quite anxious about it having heard the news we can re-open.

@Annie20061 At the moment I don't think you are in any fit state to go back to work do you have any holidays accumulated or maybe you are just gonna have try be honest with your boss tell him the situation. But great to hear you had a good nights sleep. My sleep was ok think like you anxiety is starting to kick in im also due back at work im a LBO at a big parcel depo and wow its a hard job and unsure if im fit enough yet.

Annie20061 Wed 13-May-20 12:22:27

@RickyBooth i have already told my bosses i have been ill with Coronavirus symptoms & they have been understanding. I think just the 15 minute drive to work would tire me out let alone a full 8 hour day. I don’t feel ready to go back yet. I have been working from home answering emails & sorting out 1 or 2 maintenance queries a week... most of my job i can do on emails or using docusign & i can do it when i feel good so i am going to ask them if i can continue to work in this way until I’m 100% better. Otherwise i do have holiday i can take instead. The GP has given me another course of antibiotics so I’m starting those today.

Yes if you have a physical job you need to be fit enough to go back to that. How are you feeling today?

Cusano34 Wed 13-May-20 14:28:18

Aww bless you. I am in the same boat. My GP was amazing and signed me off for 2 extra weeks but I’m due back Friday. I had a test and was negative (think I was tested too late) and I work as a secretary i heart failure at the local hospital. Not a large amount of covid patients and I’m in an office but argh so nervous to go back to the hospital sad being off for 4 weeks I’m happy in my little bubble. I feel well enough though.

I think you should be honest and ask for a little longer. Could you call your GP and try and get signed off for another 2 weeks? X

Cusano34 Wed 13-May-20 14:29:41

Also has anyone thought about donating plasma? I’ve been in touch with the NHS blood donation and they’ve said atm it’s only people
Who have been tested positive. But if you have cleared symptoms for 28 days they will consider taking blood and testing for antibodies and if it shows you have had it they can then use the plasma to help others

Annie20061 Wed 13-May-20 20:06:30

@Cusano34 thank you my GP is calling on friday so i am going to ask her to sign me off for 2 weeks if my bosses won’t let me take holiday. Good luck for friday and going back to work. I hope i might feel well enough in a week to go back.

Regarding the plasma donation i would like to do that definitely to help somebody else.

Annie20061 Wed 13-May-20 23:07:36

@RickyBooth sorry to hear that you haven’t had a good day. It is up & then down this illness. I have had a good day. Started antibiotics see if they help. My chest still feels burny, a bit of rib pain (not much) & slightly sob but hardly any. Pottered around the house & I’m normally tired by 8pm & asleep but I’m up & feeling ok. hoping for a good night ahead. Hoping you feel better tmrw & hope you have a good night.

My work wanted me to go in monday & are now furloughing me until I’m better

Cusano34 Thu 14-May-20 12:46:38

@Annie20061 I’m glad you don’t have to go back to work yet! That’s good news, longer to get better and back to full health.

Can anyone explain their breathlessness to me please? It’s the only thing that’s left, but I really don’t know if it’s just anxiety and it’s not always there :/

Theforest Thu 14-May-20 15:44:44

I have been working from home the whole time. Haven't told work about the possible symptoms. Didn't want the drama if it didn't effect them and knew I wouldnt be expected to go back quickly.

@Annie20061 I havent really had breathlessness for over a week now, but I was fully able to take a deep breath without pain, but just needed to breath deeper than normal. A bit like breathing through labour is the only other time I have had to do it!
I just have the strange feeling chest and on and off sore throat now.
Hopefully on its way..

Annie20061 Thu 14-May-20 15:53:28

@Cusano34 thank you it does. I’m having another good day, I don’t dare to hope that I’m almost better. A little bit of sob but hardly any.

I get a burning sensation in my lungs, rib pain. The breathlessness i get i feel my heartbeat increase & i have to sit down, sometimes chest tightness & sometimes it is momentary & sometimes it is there for hours.

@RickyBooth how are you feeling today? Hope you are having a good day

OP’s posts: |
RickyBooth Thu 14-May-20 17:34:37

Yep im a little better today thanks @Annie20061 Great to hear you day is a good on looks like we are slowly getting over it.

Annie20061 Thu 14-May-20 20:01:10

@RickyBooth i really hope so. I think you have been ill around 5 weeks the same as i have.

OP’s posts: |
RickyBooth Fri 15-May-20 11:12:08

Yes for sure I think we are about the same 5 weeks or so also same symptoms well almost. Any how hope you are well today @Annie20061 and all. me myself am just feeling drained don't know if its because of the lack of sleep over the last month. also lump in throat feels much better this morning and lung pains have gone for now see if it stays that way.
