11 Plus - September 2020

There isn't going to be much, if any, schooling happening for current year 5s. Our son is having online classes for 11 plus and we're working with him on it, but it's still a bad time for this or any other exams. I wonder if the 11 plus will still go ahead at the beginning of September as it usually is. Or is this a chance to scrap the grammar school system... I hate it personally but feel the necessity to 'buy in' to it to give our kids the same opportunity as others to get the best mark. Maybe it will be the start of a more even system.

In Northern Ireland we have a thing called the AQE which is similar to the 11+ exam and serves the same function. It's 3 exams across 3 Saturdays in November.

Was on BBC news NI today that they have pushed back the dates of the exams by a fortnight to allow pupils to study a bit more for the exams. Confused My son will be doing these exams and I am a bit worried, as NI schools aren't due to resume until September.
