Yep knew it would end up happening- we are so slow with everything

BruceAndNosh Mon 11-May-20 14:12:48

Wondered when they'd finally do it.

Who has said this?

BruceAndNosh Mon 11-May-20 14:13:34

At least it's not gloves.
Pretty hard to make your own glovers from an old t shirt

Breaking news on BBC from official MegaDocument

The Government has said in in The Document.

Johnson forgot to say it last night when telling people to go back to work on overcrowded tubes.

Frequency Mon 11-May-20 14:16:46

Are they providing them? Also for anyone who hasn't tried functioning as a normal adult wearing one after a few minutes they're really uncomfortable.

I despise them. We have to wear them for work and you end up dropping in sweat after 15 minutes.

resipsa Mon 11-May-20 14:18:11

Why does the accompanying photo show a space which is not enclosed? The media are not helping with the clarity of the message!

caoixr Mon 11-May-20 14:18:18

Finally some sense!!! It’s taken them long enough. Just copy the successful countries and we’ll be much better off.

Utterlydespairing Mon 11-May-20 14:18:36

I won’t be wearing them

marlboroughlemon Mon 11-May-20 14:18:49

What a surprise …. ages after most countries …. and having told us repeatedly they did nothing

PicsInRed Mon 11-May-20 14:19:44

No ta.

resipsa Mon 11-May-20 14:20:32

I looked at the BBC not the Guardian link by the way!

P0lka Mon 11-May-20 14:20:41

It advises to wear them in enclosed spaces, but does not require or mandate it.

I will consider wearing one during my weekly supermarket shop, but not during exercise

BlackberryCane Mon 11-May-20 14:21:58

Anyone got a link to Mega Document?

squashyhat Mon 11-May-20 14:22:02

So where do we get them from?

HoneyBee03 Mon 11-May-20 14:22:39

As it's only advised I really hope that supermarkets don't decide to make up their own rules and decide not to let you in without one.

KnobwithaK Mon 11-May-20 14:23:47

Ah, found it now, thanks.

Here you go @BlackberryCane

PurpleDaisies Mon 11-May-20 14:24:00

It only says in certain circumstances-eg public transport or some shops where social distancing isn’t possible.

meow1989 Mon 11-May-20 14:25:01

So where exactly are we supposed to source them from then? Given that the NHS is struggling to get them.

Frequency Mon 11-May-20 14:25:26

But where are they coming from? I work in a care home and we are back down to one mask per 12 hour shift as we're running out. The public trying to get hold of them en masse won't help our situation.

AlecTrevelyan006 Mon 11-May-20 14:26:28

It's a no from me

HoneyBee03 Mon 11-May-20 14:27:06

Ah yes. Thanks @PurpleDaisies, it looks like it's more aimed at those who might be getting on a crowded train or going to a busy place, rather than the supermarket.
